You don’t need to be a clairvoyant to know this guy isn’t good enough for the NBA... 30 teams have agreed with me for the last 8 years he has been scoring under 10 ppg in a low level league overseas
I seem to remember, at one point and time, we picked up a "scrub who had played a combined 12 NBA games and 142 minutes in 5 years since going undrafted from some small school". He then started 75 games for us and got a 3yr deal from SAS. Joe Ingles, Yogi Ferrell, Matty Delly...all would be useful on our squad. All undrafted. All now getting paid.
Honolulu Airport Twitter notes that Celebrity GM Neil Olshey has just landed after his triumphant offseason, with a lei around his neck, a mai tai and straw in one hand, and a spare hula skirt hanging out of his back pocket.
This guy reminds me Royce O'Neal, who would've also been a good pickup. People want flashy players, not ones who play hard, grind, and get it done.
@theprunetang It's like he had no clue what point you were trying to make because he just reconfirmed it haha.
Hey if he’s good enough to get a 2way contract or something. Whatever. I have felt all off season, the Blazers will basically do nothing. Use there draft pick on a project - check. Won’t be able to use the tax exceptions, and if they do it’ll be for an over paid 8-9th man type. Use the MLE on another 8-9th man type. NO will say the usual sales stuff. Who knows though, maybe NO will surprise me, I hope so. As far as this guy goes, it’s highly unlikely even if they gave him a 2 way contract he’s ever really in the rotation. No harm in looking though the 3 point percentage is pretty impressive.
So, you plan to pout over all of the end of bench guys the Blazers take a look at? If the Blazers are successful in using the TPE or MLE to land the vet Olshey is looking for, and especially if they have to match an offer on Nurk, they are going to have to waive the current end of benchers to save money and minimize luxury tax implications.
Yeah imagine if he turns out to be as terrible as Joe Ingles or Royce O’Neale that Utah had picked up in the exact same situation.
so its a forgone conclusion that the Lakers ARE getting Leonard and LeBron? Can you give me next week lotto numbers?
Yeah It’s shocking he isn’t bringing Lebron to fill out the bench. Seriously every team brings in guys who are “cheap” to see if they could help them. I don’t think this has anything to do with setting the bar anywhere. I actually agree with you in disliking NO, but complaining he brought in a guy to look at is pretty petty.
I was watching his and his team's highlights yesterday, and he obviously has some skills we can use. But what stood out in those videos was the play of his teammate Jan Vesely. Think he might be due back in the league.
