The idea that if we don't hear about a trade proposal, it didn't happen, implies that every conversation NBA GMs have is public knowledge. This has got to be the silliest concept I've ever seen on this board. Every GM in the league is talking to other GMs about players and possible trades. That's their job. It's also their job to not spread the content of those conversations all over the internet.

So, in Gronk World GMs run out 12 hours before the start of free agency and leak their off-season plans to the press and call that “playing chess”?

    Fascinating.

You guys are too hard on Gronk. If he wants to complain then let him.

I don’t mind bellyaching about something that’s happened and you disagree with. Constant bitching about things that haven’t happened is annoying. I guess I could put him on ignore, but I’ve never done that for anyone in all my time on this board. Besides, I’d run the risk of missing that post where he actually says something interesting.

The grumpy old men were one of the best parts of the Muppets. Gronk covers the Blazers and Marzy covers politics.

It was understandable that they were grumpy; they had a hand up their ass.

Maybe Gronk and Marzy have been spending too much time at the proctologist’s office.

Isn't the goal in checkers to keep as many of your pieces as you can?

For the Blazers to be in such a financial straight-jacket that they can't afford Ed Davis who takes a minuscule salary somewhere else....that's not overly confidence inspiring.

He IS!!!! Oh my goodness listen to him talk all he does is sale, sale, sale. PA is either so bored w/ the Blazers he doesn't care anymore, or has he bought what NO is selling.
Salesman tactic tell you what you want to hear, he's been telling that to PA for years...

He does little else. When all you do is come in here complaining what happens afterward is a symptom of that complaining.

anyone else thinking that we are gonna try to push Nurk toward the QO? Unless there is a huge surprise move coming (trade CJ) given what we have done I have to start thinking that way

I would bet Neil ran the Davis scenario pass Dame, which leads me to believe there is more to come?
May be wrong but Im thinking Dame and possible CJ had a heads up.
I really enjoyed Ed's tenacity and team spirit and his slow to speak quick to listen approach.

Maybe Neil is being directed by his boss(es) to take a more fiscally conservative approach due to overpaying guys previously.

It’s a very safe bet. He talks to Dame all the time. He’s known to be an inclusive GM. It’s hurt him in the past (Eric Gordon.) He wouldn’t make a decision like this without talking, or at least giving a heads up to Dame.

The reality is we can do better than Ed. Take the emotion out of it. He was invisible in the playoffs. Yeah so were some other guys, but a guy like Ed should never be invisible since teams don’t gameplan around him nor does he have a game that relies on rhythm and touches.
