I don't sweat the bank account of gazillionaire Paul Allen...ever...he'll spend Crabbe money on a part for his submarine
Are we able to retain Curry if he has a big year or are we screwed because of the cap? Anyone know? Isn’t this a terrible signing without birds rights? Either he plays bad or he plays good and we don’t have cap room to retain... lose lose right?
Yes, but if he has a big year he will obviously opt out... my question is, can we go over the cap to retain him or are we screwed?
Clips of curry roasting Portland. This is going to be a good pickup if he’s healthy. Also notice how he’s pretty similar to C.J. both in size and game.
We can give him all of our tax payer MLE next year or the year after but no more I believe So depends on how big of a year you are talking.
We'll have non bird rights, which means wee could resign him for 3.3M (120%) or we could use an exception on him.
So basically if he has a big year he is gone... like if we traded CJ and he became our starter and averaged say 15 ppg and 44% 3pt he will leave for more money... seems like a pointless signing without a 2nd year as a team option
If he plays the second year of this contract, the Early Bird exception would allow giving him a new contract starting at 105% of the average salary (around $9M).
