I have been most impressed by his confidence. But it doesn't come off as over confidence. Just a very calm, very businesslike approach to the game.
And a team like Washington could list Troy Brown Jr., Devin Robinson, and Kelly Oubre, which is just as good if not better. Our guys will always seem better when they play well.
Good choice. It’s the only thing us fans have control of. Might as well make the best of it rather than bitch and complain and be in a bad mood constantly. Seriously. His demeanor? It’s Dameesque
https://www.google.com/amp/s/okcthu...ooting-decline-plaguing-thunders-offense/amp/ Nope, his body can’t handle 82 games. Post all star break, his shooting becomes atrocious. Edit: I see where the confusion comes from; it’s really an interesting phenomenon with him. It’s also not directly related to Westbrook; happened in Indy also.
I'm not saying this is the case, but I'd really enjoy it if Simons turns into this draft classes Giannis Antk...Antkei....that guy who plays on the Bucks.
I just went back and read the first page of this thread. Pretty amazing the complete about face several posters have made after actually seeing Simons play. The general consensus has gone from Neil fucked up to Neil found a hidden gem. Given his talent/age and this team's history of developing guards, I'd say Simons has a very bright future. Now, if we'd only hire a proven big man coach so our bigs could develop comparably to our guards... BNM
I honestly don’t remember my reaction to the pick, I remember draft night I was really hoping the Blazers would trade the pick and trade exception for a wing.
This happens every year. There are tons of fans who over-react (both negatively and positively) to everything. It seems to be the same group every time too (and I admit I over-react too, but usually my over-reaction is about 15 minutes and then I realize I don't know shit about shit).
After the pelican series I was so annoyed and was like fire stotts and Olshey and trade Dame and CJ and screw them all lol. Slight over reaction.
For me, I was just confused about taking one of the perceived biggest projects in the draft a few weeks after saying we were going for playoff proven vets. Honestly I felt exactly like I did the year before with the Collins pick where I wanted Donovan Mitchell so I was pissed that we took Collins but that doesn't mean I can't also come around to liking him and his potential. At 24 there were two players still on the board that I liked better (Elie Okobo and Khyri Thomas). That doesn't mean that I can't recognize the potential in Simons either and I will definitely be rooting for his development.
Same here. But I didn't actually take the loss as bad as some others, I wasn't that surprised. But my initial reaction was slightly different then it is now. Of course, with LeBron going to the *puke*, its kind of a moot point. Tho I do love hearing how every other team improved and Portland regressed. Those takes are always fun.
I actually thought that would be a tough series so I wasn’t shocked NO won, I think Holiday is the type of guard that can give our guards problems especially with davis in the paint. I just didn’t think it would be that much of an eye sore to watch and it was real frustrating it took until game four for the Blazers to grow a pair. I don’t really think the Blazers have regressed, I just don’t think they’ve done much of anything? Steaksauce doesn’t do much for me, I think Curry could be a really good pick up and the two rookies who knows. The Simons pick is one of those where I have no idea what to expect.
My dads theory is that Dame was not the same after his son was born and brother was shot. That next year Dame will have a good playoffs, but it may not mean winning because of how good some of those other teams are.
This isn't meant as a knock on Dame, but I would have lost all respect for him if he demanded a trade this summer. Yes the Pelicans had a good plan on defense to stop him and there is only so much he can do, however it's not like he played alright and the rest of the team let him down. If he is a star he needs to find a way to get it done in the playoffs. I think he knows that and that is why it is foolish to think that he is unhappy with Portland or wants out. I really love that he doesn't want to just take the easy way out by joining LeBron.
The Pelicans did basically say hey we don’t think anyone on this team other than Dame can beat us. In terms of dame asking to be traded, I don’t know it’s so hard to win right now without like 3 superstars that I could at least understand it... I don’t think Dame has the personality to call it quits, but it depends how he left or asked. After Durant’s move to GS it’s hard for me to argue when other stars team up...
