Yeah, exactly this. OKC took their biggest weakness and made it even worse. I don't get how that helps them?

Wow, yeah, look at OKC! They are so good!

It's like people didn't watch any of these teams play last year.

They're replacing melo and displacing Felton with Schroeder, TLC, and Noel. Yes they will be better than our roster as it stands.

TLC and Noel suck. They have literally done nothing in this league. Shroder is a much worse version of Westbrook, when is he going to get the ball in his hands?

Honestly, the only winner I see here is Melo. He is still getting paid and he gets to pick a team that is more interested in his reputation than in his reality.

Schroeder was a mediocre starter, that usually equates to a good starter. This move wasn’t really about making either team better.

OKC has a very high payroll and if they start to lose their chemistry might become toxic. The guys they added are not proven winners. Also I thought Shroder preferred to start these days so are they going to force some odd 3 guard lineups with non shooters.

I agree which is why it's silly to see the posts about how much better this makes OKC. It's out of control.

Whoops sorry I meant equates to an ok bench players, but I agree with you. It doesn’t really make either team better. Though maybe OKC got better just by not having Melo(?) I know I said I thought the Blazers should swing for him last year but it appears they lucked out not getting him.

    And $45MILLION!!!
Atlanta dumped $50M on OKC so that they could dump Melo's $28M contract.

My least favorite argument of all time: because they haven't, they won't. You used to beat me up about saying Minnesota was going to be a playoff team last year. I'm willing to wager anything intangible (lol), that as the teams are constructed after this trade goes through, that OKC will be better than Portland next season. I don't want this, but it is the reality.

Some people think every single move another team makes is a) a move Portland should have made and b) makes them so much better. It's like if the Thunder would've signed Nik Stauskas those same posters would be saying how awesome of a move it was for OKC and how it makes them leap frog us since they added a quality shooter. LMAO

No they won't. We swept them last year. How does Shroeder make them that much better?

Realistically though many moves aren’t even about teams trying to get better, a lot of teams are in play around with the salary cap mode.
The Stauskus signing to me was more about timing than it being a bad signing. I don’t really think OKC got better this year. I do think about 8 teams are fighting for 6 playoff spots and depending on health and the breaks of the season they could all finish in just about any order from 3-11ish in the West.
I think Portland’s “future” may be brighter after this summer if those young guys pan out, but I don’t think they have gotten significantly worse or better going into next year. I think that’s actually the case for most teams.
