Without that 6 game home losing streak, we would've won 55 games and would've finished closer to 2 seed than the 4 seed. Had we event went 5-1, that would still be true. It can both ways. You're choosing to be negative.
If we subtract 13 wins, we would have missed the playoffs. If we subtract 13 losses, we would have had a better record than GSW. But, neither of those things happened. Pretending they did is stupid. BNM
So if it can go both ways, then you either have to use it in both ways to be fairly objective, or you can't use that reasoning at all. At least you admit it goes both ways. There's people that'll use it to support a positive or negative narrative, and then when you use the exact same logic in the opposite way, they'll act like the logic is stupid...
Denver arguably has a brighter future that us. They're 3-4 games behind us, with a much younger team, that just landed MPJ, who was presumably the number 1 pick a year ago, as well as Isaiah Thomas, who should make them slightly better as well. Meanwhile, we're substituting Ed Davis and Shabazz Napier for Seth Curry and more Zach Collins. Yikes. Denver's also another example of a team that has an older "average age" but who's core is much younger and has much more potential.
Super Teams: The current iteration of the Warriors, the Heatles, the KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce Celtics with young Rondo. To be a super team you have to acquire some super star players to your roster and the sum total needs to be the favorite to win the Championship. So, no regardless of how we picked up CJ and Nurk, we would not be a super team.
DEN also has a defense that is worse than ours was pre-Nurkic. Let me know when they start playing defense, then I'll take notice. BNM
Which is why I didn't say they're better than us now. But they were close last year, and should improve this season while having a younger core with more potential.
Both on extremes. So meet in the middle. Above average team that needs another star/superstar to be considered a super team. (Probably need harkless to take a serious draymond green type jump too.) When checking averages, toss out the five worst and five best. There is your mean.
Denver's gone back to back years just missing the playoffs at 9 seed. That is the worst place to be. Isaiah Thomas won't help much. They are all set for more mediocrity. If you were a Denver fan, you'd be talking about how horrible the team is and how the Blazers are on the brink of contending.
I totally disagree. While uber talented, I still like the Blazers top three more. Dame will be only 28. It's not like he's old, and while Jokic puts up fancy stats, I like the defense and physicality of Nurk going forward. Jokic is truly more of a PF. Giving the Blazers way too little respect IMO.
