These idiot protesters need to get a job. https://www.kgw.com/article/news/lo...y-ice-pdx-protesters-owners-say/283-576480995
Sheesh...attack a food cart because they feel the owner does not support their cause..seems reasonable..
Please don't equate these shit heads with the movement in general. The leaders of the movement have denounced the actions of the idiots who harassed the food cart people. Edit: After all, it's not as though the organizers chanted "Jews will not replace us" as they wore Nazi brown shirts and carried lit torches and then had a member drive a car through a crowd of counter protesters killing one and seriously injuring many more.
Just saw a quick live shot on the news. Looks like the cops in Portland are tearing down a homeless encampment. Those ICE protestors should protest that.
The jobless worthless protestors should have to clean up their trash they left behind, or at least pay for it to get cleaned up. Pisses me off that my tax $$ has to cover the cost.
Some of them are cleaning it up. They are hoping the police don't arrest them for staying behind to do clean up.
This situation kinda makes the corporate interests that want cheap illegal labor not look so bad. I would think these people should have those jobs but could they even hack it?
HOw do you know this wasn't tried but omitted from the video? Or done prior to when the recording started? You dont know based on this video that thats what happened. Actually if you look close they were on the street. The cops tried to push them up on the sodewalk. The protestors refused aNd leaned back into them so rhen the cops started arresting them. These people got whats coming to them. I live how the girl yells to the cops to get out of her city. I wish she would get the hell out of my City!!
Dude read the first sentence of my post....it's called a disclaimer....I can flip it and say you didn't know either....it's an AP news feed, not a documentary...I saw enough to make my comment...so I did...don't care to argue the point either....nothing in my post cheered for the kids....I actually said they escalated things...cops however are supposed to be trained to talk them down and use violence as a last resort....maybe you haven't paid much attention but this country has had a serious lack of peace keeping and an uptick in aggression
I wasnt trying to argue. People can have different views and debate them without it being an argument. It seemed as though you were advocating the cops dodnt do all the could and all i pointed out is the video doesnt show what happened in the minutes prior to. No arguement or trying to put anyone down. Just pointing something out to discuss... Maybe i should not have come over here. Edit: @riverman i did go back and read your first sentence to make sure i didn't missunderstand you and i am sorry but in your first sentence, you state you know nothing about the protest but you do know that the cops used no diplomacy prior to getting physical. That is in your first sentance. Not sure why im not able to disagree with that and ask how so based on the video not showing anything prior, either way?
it's not personal OB.....you led your post with...how do you know and you don't know....I said I don't know...I commented on the cops going for the tasers and mace faced with shouting....this is not good procedure...read my last sentence...I quote...poor showing by all involved but cops can deal with this without throwing people on the ground....that's my view for what it's worth. You are welcome to weigh in all you want....tell us what you saw ….you wanted the screaming lady out of Portland ...I read that...I want her to calm down and peacefully protest...same as the cops...calm down....be the voice of reason...
They're altruistic kids. Kids will never be perfect. I overlook a lot of stuff that kids do. Making mistakes is the major way kids learn right from wrong. Sure, we lecture them 'till we're blue in the face but it doesn't sink in until they goof.
Lanny there is a huge difference between making a mistake and learning from it And making the same mistake over and over all the while refusing to listen to reason and breaking the law in the process. Then forcing others to pay for the clean up of the mess that was created. With this mind set its kinda like saying kids can do anything cause they are kids. This mentality is part of the growing problem and downfall of society. No accountability. Coddling our young so the moment they face adversity, they expect someone else to dig them out of it because that is what they have always had. To give love to our children is the most important thing we can do, but teaching responsibility and work ethic is a close second and it seems like we, as a society of families, stop after the first.
