Runaway homeless teens looking for an excuse to use to prop up thier irrational behavior and lifestyle. Most drug addicts and lazy kids not willing to work hard to pay for a roof over thier head and them go join an activist group of thier beliefs, doing it the right way.

Things may have changed but it used to be mostly altruistic college students. It's a natural transitional phase.

Not sure if it has changedcas much across the country. But here, because of our tolerance for teen runaway and homlessness, the disgruntled youth take andvNtage and override any serious agenda that might actually be worth something.

There have always been teen runaways and homelessness. That's how the NGO, Outside In, got started.

Please note the strong correlation between teen homelessness and the ever growing wage gap. It's a problem that is going to take all of us to improve on.

Teens cant expect to make home mortgage type wages. Too few of them are willing to flip burgers to build work history and show discipline.

The strong corrolation with teen homlessness is lack of quality parenting.
If a child truly feels safe and loved, they will need to be kicked out of the nest, not flee to the streets.

Sure, you could blame all our problems on that. However, quality parenting requires that the parents had quality parenting or a substitute for it such as good schools and a good neighborhood. How many kids grow up to take after their parents? Most. You've got to break the cycle.

Easier said than done. It's gonna take government intervention and Republicans don't want that. They want it for free.

Really? I wouldnt say that. Some republicans are for funding for family values education and birth control education.

Its about the direction i suppose. Both parties wNt the roght thing bit have to be so extreme in thier views that there is little compromise.

RepublicNs want sex education...as long as its abstinance only.

Some democrats want family funding in the form of welfare snd food stamps with little to no individual investigTion to where that money actually goes.

Both sides must give in a little if the government is to help families. Until then educate yourself. This world is different. Smaller. Anyone can find out what is going on just about anywhere now. If people want a political voice then the best way to be heard is to not be narrow minded. So be open to new perspectives, keep an open mind and most importantly, learn how to teach yourself.

Cant rely on government for something like this in my opinion. It has to start with the individual.

I just explained why it won't happen with the individual in a statistically significant sense.

I'm lucky in our community....the cops know all the homeless and teen dropouts by first name....talk to them and have weekly meeting at the library for them to air their grievances...they use diplomacy here...great guys who actually love the community they serve and told me those kids help them solve more crimes than anybody. They gain the trust of the castoffs ….many of these kids parents are playing video poker and drinking from the time the bar opens till it closes....the kids are in the streets without guidance.....cops help around here to give them some guidance. They are peace keepers.

If you are trying to convince us that a bunch of kids are doing the majority of this, you're going to have to produce some sort of evidence. It's an asinine assertion. People in their 20's and 30's are not 'kids'. You're just using an extremely loose definition of the word to try and justify their dumbass behavior.

    You did?
I must have missed it. Ill go back and look forcit. I dont recall reading anything about why the individual cant enlighten themselves to be better than the ones that raised them.

Fake news. There's no H. Please pan your eyeballs 1 inch to the north for the correct spelling. Your lack of research negates all findings.

You: "Cant rely on government for something like this in my opinion. It has to start with the individual."

Me: "Sure, you could blame all our problems on that. However, quality parenting requires that the parents had quality parenting or a substitute for it such as good schools and a good neighborhood. How many kids grow up to take after their parents? Most. You've got to break the cycle."

Note the part about schools, neighborhoods and breaking the cycle.
