Thought I would check here since there seem to be quite a few Mariners floating around this forum. :)

I am looking for a boat that can be hauled with a 6cyl 94' toyota pickup, without needing permits (Overwidth or something). Must have a fridge, toilet, shower, stove top, and sleeping for at least 2 people.

Ive been shopping on craigslist for a week or so now, and am not finding many options for what I am looking for.

Does anyone have any ideas on a good place to search or maybe have an in on one for sale in that size range?

My hopeful budget would be $15000 or less, and would be super happy to find it for $10000 or less.

...sound like a pretty damn big boat...are you sure your older 6 cyl truck's engine/tranny/brakes can handle it?

Your budget seems adequate. The flaw in reasoning is to expect to tow a cabin cruiser with a small truck. If it were me, I would wait till after the height of the boating season, say October or so. You should be able to save a significant amount. As to what you are expecting to have, a common option would be an eighteen to twenty on foot Bayliner. That would be a comfortable set up, very serviceable with an inboard engine, and a lot of them available.

I think you’ll find a better selection/more choices by expanding your search to the Puget Sound. Especially (as @DaLincolnJones pointed out) if you wait until mid autumn....

You might be right. I dont really know the weights of boats, just kinda assumed they are light because well, they float. LOL.

I do see there are boat moving services out there, so maybe my truck isnt the end all.

    Yep, sounds like it.

That is my planned purchasing time anyhow. Doing the research now to be ready when money is in hand in September.

Yeah, great idea. The think to watch for up there is exposure to salt water. You might want to look in the Northern Cal area. A lot of guys boat on Shasta and Trinity Lakes. As you may be aware of, big lakes equal big boats.

Why do you need all this? What do you plan to do with the boat?
