https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/08/180809112420.htm I heard this referenced on the radio, and it just made me sick. Made me wish we had public canings like Singapore for people like this.
The local animal shelter where I live is filled with animals that were abused and taken away from evil treatment....makes me sick. At least they get treated really well there and nursed back to some health but they will always carry the scars.
Thirteen percent that should never be allowed to have a pet. There should be a mandatory minimum of one year in prison, not some county lock up, but the real deal, where they learn what abuse is all about.
The problem is that these people are addicted to opioids. They will do anything to get their next "fix". I'm not sure what the solution is.
...no use for people who treat pets that way. ...don't mean to take this thread off topic but didn't feel like this article deserved its own thread; I saw this on the new this morning and on one hand maybe the Father has a point but who in the hell puts a 7 year old and a 9 year on a plane flight alone from DesMoines to Orlando? I understand that airlines all have a protocol covering this sort. of thing but I think the grand parents/parents are just as much to blame https://www.kgw.com/article/news/fa...tranger-other-children-at-hotel/283-582189854
Not off topic at all--this is perfect. I worded the thread title the way I did to accommodate just this sort of thing. Although I don't really see this particular situation as all that unreasonable. In theory, sending unaccompanied minors on a flight shouldn't be a big deal, as long as there are adults to meet them at their destination, and the airline is looking out for them while in transit. When my brother and I were that age, we were walking unaccompanied a mile and a half each way between our apartment and the high school to attend daily swimming lessons, crossing highways and train tracks along the way. I don't doubt that if we'd had a reason to fly across the country without our mom, she'd have permitted it, assuming reasonable safeguards existed.
Yeah, I got the thumbs up from my bride to get another Boy to go with our girl. Its been eight months so its time. I do the shelter sites, rescues and even the specialized Boxer rescues.. Just missed one that was local, but the Boxer rescue became involved and they took the pup north..so I had a hard time trying to do the meet and greet with our girl... Just have to keep looking, the right one will come along.
People who harm animals are sociopathic and narcissistic, and animals are just the beginning for them. Nearly all violent people, from wife beaters to murderers, have a history of animal abuse. It is a HUGE warning sign when you see that behavior at a young age.
I saw that movie. He cut out a piece of a man's brain, cooked it and served it to the victim to eat without telling the man what it was or where it came from.
