    I’m kind of an ignorant American here (hey I can admit it) Jusuf’s from Bosnia and Doncic is from Slavania (I think) I don’t really know how close those countries are.

    Slovenia is not the same country as Bosnia, at least not for the past couple of decades. They might identify as the same ethnicity - isn't Nurkic a Bosnian Serb rather than a Bosnian Muslim?
