Of course it is. But why build it? The one rode was about a third full. If you had a train that did 300, from Portland to LA with no stops, it would take just over 3 hours. Longer than a plane. But way longer with the stops currently in route. So what good is the damn thing? Even if you had a track that could do it? The current train cost more than a plane from Portland to LA. It is only used for the in between places and that negates the speed potential.
