If I was Thibs I'd bundle Butler with a bunch of their terrible salaries - like Dieng (who isn't so bad, but is overpaid, and Thibs refuses to play him) or Wiggins or Teague.

Yikes. Thibs is basically Stan Van Gundy, both coaching-wise and GM-wise. Except "wise" isn't really the right word...

Thibs would love Aminu. He might even like Evan Turner. He also might see a little bit of young Joakim in Zach Collins.

See my second trade scenario above where he gets all three...

With those three picks they could've had Donovan Mitchell and still had 2 picks to move up or take two players with.

If Butler demands a trade or says it's KAT or me then they aren't going to wait to trade him which pretty much eliminates the Lakers.

They could still get him but it would involve Hart, Ball, Ingram and Zubac. If they are willing to do that.

Fultz and Covington from the Sixers is better than anything we could offer. I dont see Jimmy leaving if he was with Embiid, Simmons and Saric either.

So I took both players performances at age 22 and put there stats into a spread sheet and started comparing. I left the season / age / team spaces blank. I think the conclussion is AFA is the better overall player (and was at 22), Wiggins has a lot more offensive potential though.
So you're pretty much right. Here's the thing though, scoring is really important, and the fact Aminu isn't good at it & Harkless really isn't either is really hard for the Blazers to overcome when Dame and CJ aren't on there games. I have believed for a while the Blazers have to add a scoring punch at forward. You can't basically have two forwards that teams dare to shoot and beat them because while they may get hot a game here or there they over the course of the season or a series won't beat you very often.

Do you think the Lakers would give up Hart, Ball, and Ingram for Butler?

Butler's not a great fit with Simmons either.

Agree with this and from what I’ve heard from a good source Butler is the asshole and Wiggins is a pretty chill guy. Butler is a better player but Wiggins with our back court would be interesting yet a huge defensive issue.

Maybe. Depends on what Lebron wants.

Phoenix can offer more. TJ Warren and whoever else.

Denver could offer Gary Harris and someone.

Wiggins shot 33.1% from 3 last year. We need a wing that can shoot and plays defense. Wiggins does neither.

That being said if it was simply Turner and someone else we were giving up I'd be fine with it.

Wiggins has his moments defensively. I think he has more to offer than he’s shown, or at least more consistency.

I also think Terry would take his game to another level offensively, just by giving him more trust. There’s still a ceiling he hasn’t hit yet. Thibs is holding him back. Wiggins is exactly the type of player Olshey likes to go after anyway, except this one has a pretty awful contract. Still, if we could dump Turner in the process, let’s go.

If you take out the summer of 2016 (I know, big if) I don't know if you can say that Olshey has given out a single bad contract, can you?

Hmm, that's a good question. For the record I'm kind of poking fun at it (not to be taken like I'm all angry or anything lol). I think his deal with Nurk this summer was really fair. He hasn't really had the money after 2016 to make any big mistakes. Before that I can't really think of anything too crazy.

Well I said after 2016 they haven't had much money.
Did he do anything all that good OR bad with all that money in 2012 or 2015? On memory is seems like he didn't really do anything all that spectacular either way. 2015 they lost LA and basically went young and cheap, then they had some success and we got 2016!
I have always tried to give credit that in 2015 though they didn't spend money, they rebuilt the entire team basically from scratch and NO did a good job of finding young players to go around dame. That the Blazers made the playoffs that year was impressive.

Aminu alone is better than Wiggins. And I say no to Butler. Butler has an attitude problem. He wanted out of Chicago and now he wants out of Timberwolves? No thanks.
