Well if Boston is intending on keeping Kyrie long term, that might be an option. They said they want to play together and the Celtics have young defensive players that Thibs likes. Maybe Smart and Brown?

I always liked Plums' non-stop effort and his high BBIQ, but even I recognized his limitations, both physically and talent-wise. So yeah, not in the same class as Jimmy Butler.

Is it just me, or has Mase bulked up since the trade?

    - Ok, so your 1st point is weird to me. By that logic Jamal Crawford was actually the #2 option while CP3 was the #3 option on the 2013-2014 Clippers and other over-confident players who get to shoot bricks > quality players who gets trusted at crunch time.
Wiggins was probably getting more shots because of "player development" considerations + his FGA average grew while Butler was hurt.

    - I'm surprised you are so impressed by APG. That stat speaks more about the system and the team than the player's actual contribution.
Stephon Marbury averaged like like 8-9 APG in PHX and NY. Westbrook is averaging like 10+ APG for the past 3 years and his team's offense is looking pretty bad.
I'm sorry, but "APG" is garbage.

    - I agree that Butler seems more efficient on both ends, but i think CJ is more creative offensively and that's a necessary ingredient on a team so devoid of talent.

    - Criticizing Thib for playing Butler too much? We've watched Stotts do the same this year, Dame was 4th in MPG this year. God forbid he won't play the entire 1st quarter every night...
Stotts is probably starting to feel how his job is slipping away from him, he will run Butler to the ground just like Thibs did while Butler will be one year older and thus more fragile.

Watch Phoenix get Butler for Josh Jackson and Tyson Chandler.

Butler isn’t coming but I still feel like we could get our hands on Wiggins.

Only if they want to get rid of his contract and trade him for expiring crap. We should not be trading anything of value for him.

Jackson for Butler is excellent for Wolves if they can't resign Butler. Jackson is basically new Butler that is cheaper and you may keep him for 6 more years if you like.

He’s ok, but I don’t think one year of NBA experience on a terrible team is enough sample size to say he’s the ‘next’ Butler. I just think they could get more than that for Butler. Even if it’s that same trade with another pick or two attached.

You’re talking about a former elite prospect who’s only 23 years old. Came into the league with two way potential. The tools are there. The contract is garbage and he’s been inconsistent, but I’d gamble a non lottery first that he’s not done developing, and that his career stall had more to do with surrounding circumstances.

I agree with what you are saying about his potential, but 80 million is a lot. It would need to be ET and Aminu and like you say a non lottery pick. Not CJ, not for Wiggins anyway.

There is no question in mind that Kyrie and Butler will both opt out after next season and go to the same team with cap space. My guess is it will be the Knicks. But maybe Thibs thinks it can be Minnesota. He may want to start trying to clear cap space....but how do you get Towns on board? I don't think he can

i dunno man, paying a guy $10M last year ( 10.5 this season, 11M after) for contributing in 33 games for an avg of 3.4 pts and 2 boards. he is 100% worthy of any and all flaming he gets. combined with his super douche level social game and his ML Brand clothing and the Rise Up bullshit. im getting twisted up again even thinking about all this.

if we can trade this colossal waste, we do it. we'll likely have ET still around to divert to as you say, and that's bad enough - we dont really need 2 sinkholes on the team.

if we gofundme anything for meyers, a big man coach would be the #1 option. whoever told him at some point he could be a 7-1 SG needs a bullet.

I don’t think they would do that deal. They seem pretty high on Brown and Tatum plus they would probably prefer to keep their best assets in case AD becomes available.

I also don’t think they want to extend Irving but that’s just a feeling. I think they will trade him during the season.
