Politics Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearing, now with New allegations!

Do some research. It's been documented on his views of whether a president should be indicted. By the way, the Clintons had nothing to do with any of my posts so not sure why you brought them into it. The democrats simply don't want a judge on the supreme court that could very well be involved in making decisions on Trump's legal issues and for good reason because of his stance that says a president can't be indicted. You really need to start looking at sources and deciding who you can believe as not everything is corrupt.

 

The Washington Post gave that Democrat talking point a couple of Pinocchios. It references a 2009 article written by Kavanaugh where he lays out a case for Congress passing a law that would prevent a president from being prosecuted while in office because of the demands and national interests of keeping the Chief Executive doing his or her job. It also notes that there's always impeachment to remove the president from office if the allegations are significant, as well as recommending that the statute of limitations on any crimes allegedly committed be automatically extended until a president's term of office is over.

My point was regarding Clinton, if she was president she would be entitles as the current is to appoint whomever.
And if the republicans were stalling and as desperate as the demo are showing, I'd rebuke them too.

As far as Kav believing no President under any circumstance could be indicted, like I said I don't agree with that, but I haven't yet heard him say that publicly.
Of course the Dems don't want a conservative of any type for a whole bunch of reasons. Once they win back the Pres and majority they will have their chance once again possibly to even the odds.
There are a few really old one's that need to move on anyway, imo.

As I have said I don't have a problem with a delay in this if needed.
One of my problems with politics in general is there are always delays in getting things done because of politics.
I try to be unbiased and reasonable in my thats about politics, but gee'z it hard to convince some that its possible.
My premise is there always needs to be concessions on both sides, but it doesnt appear thats possible with all the partisan gang fights.

 

Bravo, I live in a neighborhood where all neighbors make an effort to get along and help when needed.
My new next door neighbor are young partiers (I'm just waiting for an invite) and the husband came over and asked if the loud noise was a problem. I said it wasn't but my wife thought a bit differently, anyway we told him we appreciated he talked to us about it. We had the right to call the cops I guess, but I just figured a little give and take wouldn't hurt.
So Ive noticed now they have toned it down a lot and I asked him if we gave him the wrong impression or if someone else complained and he said no, they just want to show they can be reasonable neighbors.
I guess the moral of my story is Im not sure with such hate demonstrated by both parties because of the vast difference in ideologies, they could never compromise and show more bi partisan efforts.
And I don't think it would matter if Trump wasn't President like many say. If it was Clinton in office, lord have mercy or Rubio, good god, same gap.

 

My thinking is until people ACCEPT a more moderate/centrist concept to politics its only going to get worse. Just this old farts opinion.

 

as along as it's not a progressive democratic socialist. And someone who can keep the economy booming doesnt matter to me if its demo, repub, or independent.

so then have an investigation. Why are you so afraid of that and unless you can provide a link to prove that it's illegal then we can only take it as more of your garbage.

U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, who told men to “just shut up and step up” in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, might have some explaining to do about her campaign cash.


Data show that Hawaii's Hirono has taken money from a fellow Democrat who has admitted hitting his wife.

Also receiving donations from Carper’s group was U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will decide if Kavanaugh is appointed to the nation's highest court. Feinstein has received $5,000 from the PAC so far in 2018.

Other Democrats benefitting from Carper's PAC include U.S. Sens. Jon Tester of Montana, Bill Nelson of Florida and Joe Manchin of West Virginia, who've received $10,000 each from the PAC this year.

Carper admitted hitting his wife -- an allegation he pushed back against after it was first reported during his 1982 run for U.S. Congress -- in a 1998 interview with a local journalist Celia Cohen who published a book “Only in Delaware” that is sold by the state of Delaware on its official website, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

“Did I slap my wife 20 years ago? Yes,” Carper admitted in the interview for the book. “Do I regret it? Yes. Would I do it again? No.”

The journalist wrote that that Carper “would not speak of the allegations, even when they were repackaged and resurfaced 14 years later while he was running for a second term as governor,” but during the interview for the book “he dealt with them straightforwardly."

The New York Post was the first newspaper to allege that Carper hit his wife. The story stemmed from a taped deposition the lawmaker gave as part of a child custody battle. He was accused of hitting his wife “so hard he gave her a black eye” while his children were allegedly “slapped around and bruised by Carper for doing such things as leaving the family dog on the bed.”

Carper, 71, won Delaware's Democratic primary earlier this month as he seeks a fourth Senate term.

Revelations of Carper’s donations to Hirono, Feinstein and other Senate Democrats come at a time the party is attempting to stop the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh after California professor Christine Blasey Ford accused him of sexual assault.

Hirono has become one of the leading anti-Kavanaugh senators, criticizing men and the culture of silence that the MeToo movement is trying to change.

“Guess who is perpetrating all of these kinds of actions? It’s the men in this country,” Hirono said Tuesday. “I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing, for a change.”

“There is an environment where people see nothing, hear nothing, and say nothing,” Hirono added in a statement. “That is what we have to change.”
