Would that fall under the definition of tampering? "entice or induce a player under contract with another team to play for his team." Has anyone ever been charged with tampering for saying they would be interested in trading for a player? Apparently a lot of GM's have told somebody they are interested in Butler. Couldn't they have at least asked what Olshey thought of the situation in Minnesota, or what he thought of Butler as a player? Did he think any character questions about Butler should keep teams from trading for him?
If Neil is after him though its best for Neil not to publicly say anything. He risks a) making minnesota upset or b) making Jimmy upset.
There's a difference between telling someone off the record and being asked on media day "say, are you interested in Butler". Magic Johnson got fined for far less than that (I think it was about PG3, but I don't remember)
Jon Krawczynski: Building off @Adrian Wojnarowski tweet: sources say Jimmy Butler remained resolute during his talk with Thibs that his position would not change. (this was after a new meeting today)
When I first read this I thought you were calling ukrainefan that... Was like wow that escalated quickly. lol
Scalma is really bad with sarcasm and humor. I sometimes have to read his post several times before I know whether he's actually insulting someone
I thought the same, but then I read your post. I still would if not for you. Maybe I should abandon my habit of starting threads on the last page.
According to Woj, the Kings are wanting to use their cap space for draft compensation. How about this: Blazers get Butler and Dieng Kings get Leonard and a 2019 Blazers 1st Wolves get Harkless, Aminu, and Trent Blazers do it obviously because they get Jimmy Butler. Kings get the draft pick they want since they already traded away their 2019 1st. Minnesota gets some players that can contribute this year and a young wing but more importantly save $17 million this year and a crapload of money in future years.
It would open up 2 roster spots to fill out big man depth. We'd have Collins, Nurk, Dieng, and Swanigan. Maybe we could get the Kings to throw in Skal or something too.
