Thing is, Marzy doesn't proclaim to be a Christian, just to be familiar with and appreciate the tenets. I presume he brought up Jesus' teachings in response to me because he knows that I profess adherence thereto.

Honestly, I have no issue with that line of discussion; I was legitimately interested in his perspective on the matter, as was I in C2's views on the topic he brought up, and would be in your views on any scriptural issue you'd choose to bring up. Always interested in honest discussion and inquiry.

Fine so Marazul isn't a christian.
He however brought up certain scripture while ignoring the rest of it.
This is the classic picking and choosing what best fits the moment.
Many christians and non christians do this when they have nothing to add to a discussion.
It's tiring to read the same shit.

In Jeremiah (I'm old now cant remember verse from church days) it say"by no means should I clear the guilty"

and of course "judgment starts in the house of the lord"

yep, were all going to heaven in a Honda, one accord!

No. It would be mine. Certainly more effective in curbing the hunting instinct, and less costly than jail time. Proscribing time he doesn't not have is rather useless.

It is terrible that Cosby's lawyers or anyone else are trying to make this about race. Cosby was judged not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.

So I am genuinely curious about this....

What should the government do with the people they catch trying to cross the border illegally?

It is my understanding that they used to lock the kids up with the parents while they waited to be shipped back to Mexico, but people freaked out about having kids locked up with adults, so they passed the current law (which to my understanding was passed before Trump became President) and put the kids in a separate holding area.

Should they set the kids free on the streets without the parents? Should they find them foster homes? What exactly is the answer here?

I would like to point out that it's the parents who bring the kids across in the first place, and put them in a dangerous situation. They can't turn the people away when the find them because they would most likely die from lack of food or water. So they have to detain them and ship them back (so they can try again at a later date!)

So what would be the acceptable way to handle these people who are breaking the law and putting themselves and their children in danger?

But many are not crossing illegally. They come to the border asking for asylum. Asylum is recognised by US and international law. In the past we have allowed families to stay together while they're claims and reasons for asylum are being investigated. We are currently doing this for non-latino asylum seekers. It's only the brown people on our southern border where we are holding children separately from their parents.

The narrative that these people are all lawbreakers is not accurate.

First, let me say I sure as shit don't have all the answers. Nor am I an expert on this subject, and it's pretty complicated.

But, if I were suddenly made King against my will, I would start by trying a few things:

    1) put in place a workable temporary work visa so that for people coming here to work, it's actually easier, faster, cheaper, safer to do it legally than illegally.
    2) reform permanent immigration processes so that people aren't waiting for years
    3) stop treating asylum seekers as criminals
    4) with 1-3 in place, there will be far fewer people trying to get across the border illegally, so enforcement will be more effective

...yes, let's use a book written 2000 years ago to determine how to handle criminals...let's just do away with all criminal law, open all jails and release all prisoners, and simply wait for them to die, at which time, "God" will deal with them...brilliant, simply brilliant !

Castration for the benefit of society but he gets to enjoy retirement in the lap of luxury, that's a great deterrent!

Almost every single woman I know (including myself) has been touched in a way by men (often strangers) who think it's okay to grab and grope because they like what they see or they want to intimidate.

-I remember when I was 11, my parent's insurance agent stopped by to drop some paper work off while my parents weren't home (he was also one of the Sunday school teachers at our church). He decided to make a grab at me but I said no and wiggled away and he stopped. I knew it felt creepy but he was a trusted adult who was supposed to be a "good guy" so I just ended up super confused about it and didn't tell my parents until I was in college.

-Another time I was walking around with my friend Shannon after cheerleading practice at school. We were at the farthest corner of building away from the main office. Two football players walked by and one got a little gleam in his eye when he looked at me. He proceeded to grab my friend by the shoulders and shoved her out the locking door to the outside and then went at me. He was grabbing everything he could and then tried to tear at my clothes. My friend Shannon was frantically banging on the window and trying to get back in the door. Fortunately the guy's buddy got alarmed enough that he ran over and opened the door (he didn't want to break the Bro Code but he did let my friend in so I guess he deserves a little credit here). All 95 pounds of her she came running at him swinging and got him to back off me and he walked away. This was in the 9th grade at my junior high where I should've been safe, I was 13.

-Then another time, I was either 15 or 16, my parents and I took a vacation to Glacier National Park and decided to go to the hot springs pool. You're sitting there along the perimeter on benches that are submerged. The adult man sitting next to me starts running his hand up my leg to my crotch. I keep trying to move farther away (it was crowded so there wasn't a lot of room) and he keeps moving over as well and doing it again. Finally I just went to a completely different area of the pool. About 10 minutes later my mom came over to where I was and asked if he was touching me because after I moved he just scooted closer to my mother and started doing it to her. This scumbag's wife was sitting right on the other side of him and his kids where playing in the water about 5 feet away.

Trust me I could go on, and I can assure you these experiences are "normal" for most women, but that doesn't make it okay. These are vivid traumatic memories for me and thank God I've never been raped. But someone else decided to touch me sexually when I didn't want it and I couldn't control it. Like most women I didn't report anything to anybody. I was too afraid I'd be seen as hysterical or I was making it up or that the man would try and hurt me worse.

So, you're wrong - I see the human value in the women who were victimized by him and they deserve justice. The benefit to society is the next creep that thinks he can violate another person like that might think twice. You don't get a pass because your dozens of victims are afraid to come forward for years because of the perps' power and money and physical dominance or because he's too old. No one has the right to physically violate another person and get away with it. You're post is bull shit.

Sorry you feel it is bull shit. You might note that I did not say jail time should not be given for these dudes.
What I did say or mean to say is that it might not be enough. I am not at all sure a character that willing pull this crap
you describe will be corrected or Rehabilitated with jail time. Although I am not against it at all. I would like the correction process
include removing the ability of the perpetrate to repeat the crime, because I really am not convinced rehabilitation is possible for all crimes, especially this crime.
But handing out jail time that exceeds the time the guy probably has, is hardly a step forward.

...well, castrating Jello man, who likely also has a Jello dick these days anyway, is "hardly a step forward" either.
