i watched the video before i heard the talk everywhere about people laughing, and watching it, it didnt occur to me that people were laughing at him. Just my opinion at the time i guess, but he seemed to go with it like he initiated the chuckle and it didnt seem contentious whatsoever.

I don't know what do you think?

I know we've been paying more than our fair share over the years. At lest he set a lower amount going forward!

...not sure what that has to do with the UN being "a waste of time and money".

    ...the UN still has purpose.

Maybe so, then why do we have to pay more as a % than any other country?

...well, you just claimed Trump supposedly rectified that...so there should be no problem, right.

...contentious?...it's a discussion, plain and simple. But this is about the 3rd time you've use this approach where you make a statement that I take issue with, and when I question you about it and we go back and forth a bit, you suddenly say you're "not in the mood" or some other similar response.

...sometimes people agree on certain topics, sometimes they don't, but nobody's been hurt or insulted...so there's really no reason to feel the way you do.

I was stating we still pay more as % to support the UN. Even after it was lowered to 25%.

...I understand that, and that's what I was responding to...Our country spends a lot of money on things and some may be highly questionable but IMO, the UN is not one of them...again, money aside, the UN "still has purpose".

I would say he's more of an idiotic, moronic dumbshit with evil intent. Did I mention that he's in Putin's pocket?

What was it that someone in the audience said that elicited the laughter?

why do we have to have spend 3 times more on the military than the next country on the list of military expenditures. Over 600 billion in military spending. The US spends 36% of the total amount of all countries combined. In fact, the US spends more than the next 7 top spending countries all together.

China and Russia would be much larger percentages if you factored in the low wages paid to their soldiers by their governments.

Cup, Im not opposed at all to reducing Military spending. First and foremost I'm for efficiency, taking steps and cost out of everything/process in order to be more fiscally conservative.
Hell, Im for privatizing the post office!

I'm against privatizing the Post Office. They serve people in remote areas for the same cost as someone near by. They also hire disabled Veterans giving them 5 to 10 points on their exams, depending on the extent of their disabilities. They quit handling oversized or heavy packages leaving that to private enterprise.

I remember the old days when a postman would bring the mail to our front door. As a child, I would leave milk and cookies for the mailman. I dunno, maybe my father ate the cookies and drank the milk but I appreciated the mailman that much.

and yet Trump wants more, even though the country is now into a trillion dollar deficit and we haven't even addressed infrastructure. The amount paid to the UN is peanuts compared to military spending.
