A usage rate above 20 with above average efficiency, sub par defense that is not horrible. I don't believe he can get enough good shots off with his slow release nor the defensive speed to be slightly below average. I don't care about raw PPG, that's for dumb owners like James Dolan.
I was excited that he had finally grown up.. right up until I heard his MVP speech. Then I was reminded of who we were talking about.
I have to call bullshit on this post. This already Meyer's second Fan Fest MVP award. He also won it in 2012: Meyers became the third multi-time winner of the award, joining Steve Blake (2007, 2008) and Damian Lillard (2014, 2015, 2016). BNM
There is no chance of this happening and this is really going to sound like a joke but I'm being mostly serious about it... I want his ratio of flexing/showing off to doing actual good things on the court to at least be 1:1. Meyers seems way to concerned with what other people think about him and trying to show people how hard he works. I also want him to be self aware enough to realize why he doesn't play sometimes. It feels like he thinks he deserves to play more. So whether he plays big backup minutes, just a couple minutes, or not at all I want him to make the most of that time and not worry about anything else.
I'd be more than happy to have 3rd year Meyers back. Of course, that was his small sample size 50/40/90 season, but it was also the last time he was a good rebounder (10.6 REB/36)and not totally lost on defense (102 DRtg, 0.0 DBPM). It was also, NOT coincidentally, the last time we had an actual big man coach. So yeah, 15 MPG at 13.9 PTS/36, 10.6 REB/36 and non-shitty defense. Unfortunately, at this point, that seems more fantasy than potential reality. BNM
