Water to open it up is acceptable. Like I said, you dip your finger in water and then flick it into the scotch. The only manly way to do it. Ice is shitty. Its what non-scotch drinkers do to dilute it since they aren't used to drinking non-mixed drinks.
My great niece is at Emory right now. She's been there a year and her worst grade was an 'A'. She's a pre med major and absolutely brilliant. She was a straight A student at her grade school thru high school. She even managed a program that was her idea to send kids from her excellent school to public school where they had a lot of disadvantaged kids. I'm go proud of her. She could have gone to Harvard but chose Emory because of it's relation to the Center for Disease Control. She wants to be a medical researcher. By the way, one of my cousins used to live in Ft. Walton Beach and then Panama City which might not be too far from you.
I've probably had ten times as much high balls as you and I'm fine with ice. It's American and not Euro. A friend of mine drinks single malt neat. I don't give him a ration of shit for that.
...again, I don't need any lessons on how I prefer my scotch. ...if you prefer it neat, fine...sometimes I do too, depending on my mood...sometimes with a splash of good water, ...same when I am in the mood for bourbon...it's a matter of preference but flat out saying someone else's preference is "offensive" is myopic.
Same here. Awhile back I went to the liquor store and a guy 2 feet in front of me grabbed the last bottle of Ardbeg just before I got to it. Maybe that was you. barfo
Was he wearing a flannel shirt and dirty work boots? Aha, so we finally met. Let me just say, it was delicious. And I drank it with like a ton of ice, moo hahahaha.
My late stepfather was a scotch drinker. He said ice was good to keep it chilled but you had to have the right sized ice. Too big and it would make the deink too cold. Too small and it would melt too quickly and dilute the drink. Im not a scotch guy.
