Its hard to be scared of Kylo Ren. He has shown to be weak AF. And now we are in the final part of the trilogy with bumbling bad guys and severely depleted good guys led by Rey, who we still don't know why she keeps on beating the shit out of everyone. Who cares what happens. Are you attached to any of the characters? Do you care which side wins? They can all kill each other and I could care less.
The Emperor would make sense as a parallel to Snoke if they had done a better job of building him up as this supremely powerful being, but the Emperor was really just a name at that point. We didn't know much about him until the third movie. Vader was the big bad villain in the first two movies. Snoke is built up as some supremely powerful being, who is so powerful that he can force a connection with the force between Rey and Kylo. This is a dude who is so powerful and yet dies like a chump. Maybe if the Emperor had been introduced more centrally in the second film, the comparison would make more sense. Kylo isn't even a Vader.... he's basically a dark side Luke. Emo, not refined, and a loose cannon. There is no Vader in the new films. There isn't an iconic villain in this new series. They all suck. Can you imagine Rey trying to face Vader? He toyed with Luke repeatedly. The snark that he had in EST is what makes that movie so good.

This reminds me of when they tried to say it was the fault of the evil male chauvinists that the latest all-woman Ghost Busters movie was a total flop.
Spoiler This is what I have heard about episode 9. KKyloor Rey will find out in visting Vader's castle on Mustafar that Darth Sidious was Snoke's other apprentice. She will find a holographic recording of Sidious telling Anakin about him, about how though his master knew how to return from death, he slayed him. This will be a foreboding for what is to come...Snoke is not dead. Rey will turn Kylo back to the goodside. They will fight Snoke together in the end. And of course rey will find out who her parents actually are, someone we all know, not junkers. The mess that is episode 8 will be fixed. Yoda, Luke, Anakin, and Obi wan will show up as force ghosts. Leia will be given a proper farewell.
Its the X-Men: The Last Stand of the Star Wars Universe (although I found The Last Stand a little bit entertaining and not insulting to the movie goer)
If Snoke Survives, and they kill him again, how do we know that kill will hold? Why not just hyperdrive spaceships into all the badguys huge destroyers and planets?
Well shit. And i see bow i pay more attention to realism wothin cinematography. Not in the plot. I feel like a puppet now. Star wars band wagon. That video just enlightened me. Lol. I never thought about the space warp thing. Or how they were all happy after everyone died. Shit. You are right. All the money put into props and nothing into the plot.
If the original trilogy was based on the Hero's Journey, then the most recent trilogy is based on the SJW journey.
