Lakers defense will take a while to get in track, if it ever does.

If Im being honest this is what makes me ticked off at NBA defenders, #20 on the kings was in so no mans land, go help you’re freaking team mate. Its not like he was sticking to his man since he was watching the ball the whole time and his man couldve easily done anything since he wasnt attached at all.
I know it sounds like Im taking something from Lances move, the cross was nice and the behind the back to get an angle to the rim was good too, so i recognize the dribble moves were good, but that defense was so bad.

This is a perfect example to explain why I have so much hope in Zach Collins. Knowing where to be positioned, when to help off your man, being smart enough to anticipate what's going to happen, and being there to contest a shot even if you don't block it are all things that are an integral part of being a good defender but they don't necessarily show up on a stat sheet. Even as an inexperienced rookie I saw so many examples of Zach making really fucking nice reads on defense. Those kind of instincts aren't really teachable (which is why Leonard still looks lost on defense). Now pair that with Zach's athletic ability both in terms of quick feet and decent jumping ability and that leads me to believe he's going to be a really solid player.

I definitely think Zachs BBIQ is good and he knows how to play basketball and thats a big part of the equation. I think hes gonna have to get the ball to go through the hope at least at a respectable pace before he can be more than a role player. Might not be a fair analysis, but thats kind of how I see it.

Yeah even Casey and Freeman mentioned that Zach’s offense has been up and down and even behind where the team thought it would be now. He’s still struggling to take advantages of smaller guys being matched up against him. I’m confident he’ll eventually figure it out, but he’s pretty one dimensional right now. Thankfully that one dimension will be an important part of Portland’s success.

Yeah Im not declaring him a bust or saying the offense cant get there. He seems to have the tools, he’s just not there yet, whether he gets there we’ll see.

Zack Collins is not good offensively whatsoever. He’s really good defensively I’ll give him that.

But offensively the ball does not show him any love. Imo we drafted the wrong Collins and should have gotten John Collins.

Zach is no way a #10 level pick

Uniform #20 is Blazer draftee Harry Giles. Olshey traded him, as the #20 pick, with the #15 pick, for...the #10 pick...

Not a modern power forward? Olshey better talk him into signing with Brooklyn.

We are going to regret trading away the pick that ended up being Harry Giles.

Justin Jackson is trash, but Giles has some game. I think he'll be way better than Zach this year.

Just got back from the Mavs vs Sixers game in Shanghai. Simmons, Embiid, Doncic, and DSJ were all studs. I was hoping to see some game from Fultz but sadly he didn't show much, never made his presence felt on the court.

Reddick was a stud tonight despite being boo'd heavily every time he touched the ball (he had a video go viral last season, he mistakenly said a slur).

Fun atmosphere, the Chinese love the NBA. They had some "NBA Legends" at the game tonight..a few were a stretch to call legends...ha.
