wow and Houston won't do it? Tucker is underrated for sure but he is 33. Not sure why Minnesota asked for him or why Houston turned it down.....unless Hardin or CP3 said No.
They don’t want to include Tucker but seem fine with Gordon. Paul, Harden, Butler, Carmelo and Capela lineup could challenge Warriors. Bench would be a major issue though if they lost all of Ariza, Gordon, Tucker and Mbah a Moute within a year.
I think there might be a little more in here: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24950981/jimmy-butler-heated-practice-timberwolves "Butler participated in multiple intrasquad scrimmages, where he joined the bench units against the starters and went out of his way to challenge the team's two young stars, Towns and Wiggins, league sources said. Coaches and players were largely speechless at Butler's tour de force throughout the workout, league sources said."
This seems to indicate that Thibideau still has a lot of say and wants to win now. That's why I think there is a chance he would take Turner.
Man, that Thibs sure runs a tight ship. Great coach and great GM. If only we had someone like that who could motivate our players. It sounds like his guys play with more intensity in intrasquad scrimmages than ours do in real games. Plus, he continues to drive Butler's trade value down by the day to the point where nobody else will want him. In Thibs' mind he's "winning". In the real world, not even "his guy" wants to play for him any more. BNM
Whether Jimmy wants to be there at this point is irrelevant. That bridge has been burned. KAT and Wiggins hate him. They're really playing with fire here.
Report: Jimmy Butler led Timberwolves third-stringers to scrimmage victory over starters wp.me/p14QT0-3AxD (My kind of guy!)
Doesn't sound like Jimmy's bridge has been burned to me. He was telling Layden that the team needs him and he left his teammates in awe. That sounds like someone you want on your team.
Woj: A lot of Minnesota players left Timberwolves practice today energized by Butler's performance, mesmerized with him taking end-of-the-bench players and running the table on the regulars, sources said. At the end, he marched out like if a mic drop. Butler delivered a tour de force.
David Morrow: "I love Jimmy Butler with all my heart but man oh man i don’t know if I’m trading away much to get him after all this." (I hope a lot of GM's feel this way.)
At one point in a scrimmage, sources said, Butler turned to GM Scott Layden and screamed, "I (bleeping) hated Derrick Rose in Chicago. Why the hell is he here?!" Butler left teammates and coaches largely speechless. He dominated the gym in every way. Jimmy's back.
Jimmy has a point, unfortunately his coach/GM has fucked the situation up beyond repair. I mean, if he can lead the third stringers to a win over the starters, what he has said about KAT, Wiggins, etc. really is true. They don't play defense and don't care about winning. Which was obviously last season when they had the worst defense in the league when Jimmy wasn't on the floor. Unfortunately, management gave the two guys he hates the most (and hate him equally in return) both max extensions while trying to low ball him. BNM
Only if the guys he just torched in practice didn't hate his guts. No way does a team succeed when their three best players aren't on the same page, or even reading the same book. It's like Jimmy is reading The Sound and the Fury and KAT and Wiggins are reading Teletubbies. This isn't a case of Jordan or Kobe being assholes and pushing their teammates in practice, this is deep seated hatred both on and off the floor. BNM
He would make us a LOT better. That's where the argument ends. He's a hard worker. If his value is so diminished, it seems like a great time to buy low.
Meh, I have no problem with his approach. Every team needs a guy like him. Notice the players that evidently have a problem with him. Betas
