https://www.forbes.com/sites/miketo...-make-impact-with-trail-blazers/#33597092433d This has been the same story repeated over and over since Meyers came off of his rookie season. Maybe NeO is getting ready to sign him to an extension.
I actually think this year is different, for 2 reasons. 1) We have almost no alternative than to play him, so he'll get reps. 2) His contract is starting to come to a close - only 2 years left. Combining these things, yes, I'm saying there is a chance (albeit a small one, 25%?) he becomes tradeable or maybe even a help to the team. #SuckLess
Just looking at his stats last year. Hd didn't have a single block last year. Our back up center didn't have a single block last year.... That's absolutely fucking incredible. Letting Davis go was a monumentally bad idea in hindsight. Want another contract extention, Olshey?
Repeated in that article were the media-day comments from Lillard that made me stand up and take notice. Recall that this was in response to a question not about Meyers specifically, but about who of all the players in training camp had been most impressive or surprising so far. Dame hedged at first, then started talking about Meyers. Not saying that it actually means anything at all, but I found it at least noteworthy that given the opportunity to heap praise on anyone on the team, Dame went with Meyers.
There's an old adage in stand up comedy that one of the worst things you can do is encourage mediocre talent. Hey Dame, just sayin'.
Wait....Meyers with zero blocks for the entire season was not a joke? Holy mother of god. It's not a joke. I had to look it up. I had no idea. How is that possible? He played in 33 games. He's 7-1
