They won’t even get 50 cents on the dollar for him right now. Everyone in the league knows that he can’t stay in Minnesota, the situation is beyond repair and they have to move him for anything. Miami are apparently the only team to have seriously discussed it. Out of all teams linked with him Nets have apparently not even opened the talks, Bucks refused to include Middleton so the talks collapsed, Clippers wouldn’t include Harris so the talks collapsed here as well, Houston won’t even include PJ Tucker. Nobody wants to offer anything of genuine value for him. It will probably be a discount deal with Miami in the end. Won’t even be surprised if all it takes is Richardson, Waiters and a pick.
You're probably right. And I would love to hear Neil's honest thoughts on the idea of dealing for him. Is he trying? Does he think the cost is too high? Does he not want to risk our chemistry on his talent? Honestly, the not knowing is more frustrating than the inactivity.
I've said all along, I'd love to have him here. Unlike KAT and Wiggins, our young guys (at least the ones that play - Nurk and Collins) actually LIKE to play defense. Plus Jimmy wants to play with another start who shares his commitment to winning. We have that in Damian Lillard. Jimmy wouldn't be a distraction here, he'd be the missing piece. Of course, after the way he just torched MIN's young stars in practice, I doubt if MIN would be willing to trade him to a "division rival" - not that it matters, they aren't making the playoffs without him. So, as you say, he'll probably end up in MIA and MIN will settle for a steaming plate of shit in return. BNM
Lately I've been thinking I would want no part of this headcase. Now I'm not so sure he isn't exactly what we need.
Scorched Earth approach makes him look worse. Jimmy's just a bully. How convenient of Rachel Nichols to be in town for a sit down right after
Some of y'all are out of your minds. What universe do we live in when a guy who is disrespectful to his co-workers and bosses while being late for work and making public demands to leave, and then immediately has a sit down interview to air all the dirty laundry to the public is regaled as a hero? Keep this nutcase the fuck away from our squad
If keeping him really was an option, why wasn't he playing WITH the starters instead of against them? BNM
Read Chris Haynes' article. He showed up late, barged his way on to the third stringers' team and decided to berate everybody and then leave for his interview without staying for the rest of practice. He needs to be fined. No one on that team or front office has a backbone
You've been beating the drum that Butler isn't a good guy. But you have not provided any detail to back up your claim. He's definitely not a saint... Portland needs a player with a little more attitude.
MIN needs their own reality show. They already voted Jimmy off the island, but didn't give him a boat (or maybe he voted himself off the island). Who is the next to go? I predict Thibs. He has totally fucked things up as both a coach and an executive. When Glen Taylor sees steaming pile of shit Thibs gets for Butler, he will be furious they gave up Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen for a 1-year rental of Butler and an injured Justin Patton. BNM
We need attitude, not a bullying nutcase who creates a toxic work environment when shit doesn't go his way. I was all for Jimmy until this episode today.
