I was a bit disappointed to hear Dame and CJ weren't playing, but after watching the game, I thought it was great. In the last game, when Dame and CJ went to the bench, the second unit sucked big time. This game ended up being a real growing experience for several of the players. Curry appears completely capable of being the backup PG. Obviously it was also great to see Layman be aggressive and efficient. The down side was that while several players stepped up and played well (Layman, Curry, Stauskas, WB4, Chief), several players completely didn't (Collins, Leonard, Swanigan). I know the backup bigs scored some points, but none of them looked like they belonged in the rotation of a good team. Leonard looks as lost as ever out there. Collins needs a least another year or two (I hope). It would have been nice to see Collins step up like Layman did, but Collins just blended into the big man mess with Leonard and Biggie. Swanigan posted up a smaller defender a couple times, but took too long doing it and just isn't looking like an NBA player to me. More than ever Leonard is showing he is not interested in blocking shots, even though he had plenty of opportunity. Really wish we could swap any of them for Vonleh. He wasn't great, but at least he could rebound and be more aggressive on both ends.
