That was sweet. I have come to regret all the nasty things I thought about Bill Gates when I was struggling with the early versions of Windows and Word.

It's weird to think that the evil giant Microsoft produced, or was produced by, two of the world's biggest philanthropists.

What, exactly, is evil about Microsoft? (Other than Excel of course!)

Seems highly unlikely though. Bill is one of the busier men on the planet, and isn't at all a sports junkie.

Buy it, hire someone to run every aspect and keep the team ran how Paul would've wanted.

Gates life is pretty much family, his religious obligations and his foundation now. He spends a lot of his time giving speeches and fundraisers attempting to end third world problems like unclean water, agricultural issues and fund basic innoculations against diseases. I don't know if he'd consider owning the Trail Blazers as an effective use of his time or money.

We just have to tell him that when the Blazers win the championship global warming will be solved.

They set the road map that Google is now following, as far as being sued by the government.

I'm no Apple fanboy, but look up the history of Microsoft's very early days with regards to them.

    Hi Jeff,

I am in awe of the infrastructure you have built at Amazon. Sometimes I order something just to see if you can fulfill your 2-day promise; and Amazon never disappoints. It's amazing.
As you know, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen recently passed away. I think it is lost on many people just how important this man is. Everyone knows Bill Gates, but outside of sports fans in the Northwest, how many people know Paul Allen? Anyone who's made money off the internet, in the past 25 years, owes at least a small debt to Paul Allen. I don't want people to forget that.
I want to buy the Portland Trailblazers. I need your help. It is my life mission to make sure the Blazers don't leave Portland, and up until Allen's death, I was confident that they wouldn't. I knew he wouldn't be around forever, but this came as a shock. I am willing to do anything for this cause.
I'm not joking. I'm researching business models such as the Green Bay Packers, and I'm going to find the best solution. This needs to make sense for you, as well, and I'm working on that. I won't bring you a proposal that doesn't make you money. I'll keep you posted...

    Thanks for reading,
    Jason Mann

My mother and father attended a church function he and his wife sponsored recently in town. It was basically about just about faith and altruism. Nothing dogmatic. Gates was one of the key speakers. They were being hosted at a number of church organizations in the area. Now it could be that it was his wife's religious project and he was just talking about his philanthropy. That would make more sense actually. But it was a two day event, I imagine he had some authorship to the project. Even if it was just from a technical or financial standpoint.
