Let's add a 5 point line and trampolines while we're at it. This silly suggestion will hopefully never be enacted.

The only points that should count are ones that are scored.

NBA favoritism. Simple. It's called a star call. Neither CJ nor Curry should've been suspended.

It should be done in a case by case basis.

You just said it's a hard and fast rule with zero tolerance.

Why would we say this when you know that's not how I feel?

The NBA needs to fix their bench rule. Bench personnel should only stand when celebrating.

Right. Determine intent for leaving he bench then apply the suspension with zero tolerance.

I know, I'm just frustrated that a grown ass man would try to hold or pants someone from the bench and that stupid look on his face like he thinks he's so funny.

I don't agree with the no suspension thing. The NBA needs to end this from happening again by imposing an extremely strict penalty.

I actually don't have an issue with the policy of staying on the bench. I just think it's bullshit that Curry can come from the bench all the way to the court under the hoop and not be subject to the rule. There is no reason for him to be on the court, altercation or not.

And this is a false choice.

Let the player get away with it, or institute a +5 point rule?

The answer lies between these extreme narratives.

The answer is, catch it when it happens and apply a tech or, catch it after it happens and hit the player in his pocket hard.

And I think a fine is way too lenient, no matter how much it is.

I think any fines related to anything that happens during the course of a game (ie, not post-game comments, things that happen in practice, or things that happen in private life) need to start at $100K and go up based on the action being punished.

    When simply saying:

"I disagree with the way the game was officiated"

triggers an automatic 10K fine, I tend to disagree with your number.

Our team lost the game. I don't really care what happens to the dude, fine or not. Not like the league has ever cared if it wasn't a star.

This is the failure true. But we don't know where the referees are positioned in relation to the ball. The lead official (baseline ref) should never see that sideline. If the lead is on that side of the floor the trail would still have a hard time seeing it if the ball is right in front of him.

That area, when not in transition, is kind of a blind spot.

Exactly what I'm thinking. The only official that MAY see it is the far official, and that's only if he gets momentarily distracted and makes a quick decision, because he's either watching off-the-ball for holds on screens, etc, or on the ball. So, to be able to see that would actually be a miracle. Because obviously the ball isnt on the near side (bench side).

It was out of a timeout in a dead ball situation. The Wizards players never moved nor were they warned to step back. Both Morris and Jason Smith are standing with Curry with their feet on the floor.

    There is no excuse.

This is what happens when the refs fail to control the sideline in a dead ball situation.

This is also why I believe Morris deserves to be suspended. He exploited the fact the refs weren't paying attention and cheated.

lol. I'm not even mad he did it. Our team lost the game. That's what I'm upset with.

If we wanted to get him before that, we should have played defense. Maybe a couple of our guys should be suspended because they cheated the team out of a win by not playing defense? lol.
