If you're a racist, you're almost certainly a member of the Alt Right. I wonder why that is.

Overtly and/or on policy racist, yes.

What's in their minds, I agree we can't know, and don't need to know.

Lanny, Thats not totally true, yes alt right are racist, but so are some of the union longshoremen and other union guys&gals democratts that I've known/worked with throughout my life, have been very racist.
Some of the most racist people I've known been union guys that I've known over the years. This idea that conservatives, moderates and independents are much more racists is simply not true.
Hell, until Bob Kennedy encouraged his brother to get to know MLK for political gain the democratic party was just as unclean whine came to racism.

I could go to a Wednesday night Baptis bible study and or a machine workhers union meeting and the union guys would be a lot more vocal about how they feel about race and all sorts of shit.
So then how would you categorize a democrat union me,ever as racist as can be? an alt left racist?

Edit: I don't know why my statement does not appear in this reply but I said "Let me amend that, racists are largely members of the Alt Right."
Edit2: Aha, now I see the error.

Bobby Kennedy was probably the first person to say there would be a black president and he was KILLED for it... By racist conservatives... He and Ted both did amazing things for us when Y'ALL FOUGHT THEM....

Don't ever speak ill of him again...

My wife and I were both Union members. She in local 114 here in Portland and me in SPEEA at Boeing, a union for engineers and technicians.

I can only imagine how much money that union spent in lobbying to make pocket protectors and slide rules tax deductible.

    Worth every penny.
By the way, to this day I have an admiration for a well constructed mechanical pencil. I would also like to note that I owned three slide rules, one made of metal, one made of bamboo and the third was a circular one made out of heavy paper that I got out of a technical publication. I dare anyone to say I'm not a nerd. I've even made plots on log and semilog paper.

That's a Tektronix 4051 the first computer to have memory in it's pictures. They used a special phosphor to hold the picture with a separate electron feature that could broadcast a weaker elctron beam that was just strong enough to keep the phosphor on. Yes a true dinosaur that only a nerd would retain. Then there's even one physics text book that goes back to the 60s when I was in high school. Note the candle wax dripped on it when I tried reading it at night. Abe would have been proud.

Edit: Say it loud, say it proud, I am a nerd.

I wasn't speaking ill of him I just I mentioned he was the one that convinced John to gibe a voice to MLK and part of it was for political gain fro votes from the southern states. And for Ted, well he's should have gone to jail for leaving that gal in the water. But thats the entitlement from an elitist. You or I, we'd go to jail if we left that scene.

So you were one of the engineers that sat in a cubicle all day and took your sweet time, to make something, so that the marketing department could present to the sales department. And then back to guys for "what the hell is wrong with this". lol

Not exactly. I was one of the guys that had to constantly clean up after the design engineers threw their half way designed assemblies over the fence. I did this constantly at Tektronix, Emerson Electric's Electronics and Space division and at Boeing on nuclear missiles.
One time I got into a debate with a design manager at Tektronix who kept telling me about all the great things he had done at Raytheon and how my design correction on a calibration circuit was too expensive and he could do it cheaper. I even gave him a three page proof that my design was needed to ensure quality control. His design modification flopped and they had to go back and implement mine.

I saw this time and time again at all three companies.

I lay it all at the feet of the managers who tried to cut corners. This, of course, goes all the way to the top.

I'll have to say this, Tektronix probably did the best job of getting closer to a completion of their design projects than the other two companies.

I'm going to assume that all companies with major design engineering departments worked this way, or at least that's what I was told.

Edit: 90% of software design is in the support and not in the design leading to the first release.

Former US Senator and former KKK clan member Robert Byrd - Democrat. It's not to say there aren't racist people on both sides of the isle. It's more about how they are portrayed or given quite the pass. Don Lemon the other day said "white men in this country are the biggest terror threat".
Sarah Jeong of the New York Times tweeted out, "Cancel white people".

I don't see the the reaction towards them that others have received for far less inflammatory comments. It was never about whether it was a joke with Mrs. Clinton as it obviously was. But objective journalism died long ago.

I like Don Lemon but I just lost a whole bunch of respect for the dude. he could be part of the conciliation that needs to happen and he just went the whole other direction, with a broad stroke racist comment himself.
I do hope he apologizes and reframes his comment. He should!

Yes, Robert Byrd was racist. However, if he was alive today he'd be 101 years old.

What Don Lemon said is arguably true.
