We'd also gain losses. Why do we need to add a player to get national attention?...

Because he put up empty stats on a bad team in a bad conference.

Prolly something agreed upon by Morey and Melos agent. Why is it so far fetched?

Because that’s the way life is. Adding Melo would make more people talk about us. I think we have shot at 1 seed but 1 seed with Melo gets a lot more hype than 1 seed without Melo. Also without Melo, people write us off as a team that can’t win in playoffs. With Melo, media writers would take notice of a change.

Some of you guys are acting like we're the Warriors or something..... we are not the favorites to win the title. We need to make some risky moves.

I get what you’re saying but I also dont really care if the media talks about us, or if casual fans tune in more. Just need to win and all that stuff will come.

We may not be the favorites to win the title but we are the favorites to sign Melo!

Sidebar, if Melo comes to POR, would you let him wear #7 or ask to revert to #15?

Prob is sometimes it doesn’t. Even when we we went to NBA Finals two out of three years, people called our point guard “Kevin Porter.” Drexler’s All Star MVP Award was stolen by Magic. We could win the title this year but the Lakers would still get more nationally televised games next year.

Well to be fair social media, and media, and the technology we have is drastically different today than it was 25 years ago. 25 years ago, a lot of the east coast had trouble even watching a blazer game. Again, I understand, big names, equals more attention, but really look how much attention Milwaukee is getting right now, or how much attention Dame has gotten the last couple years. If the Blazers keep ballin, I think they’ll get publicity.

You're right, we aren't going to win the title this year. Which is a good argument for taking risks that offer long-term benefits. Melo is a short term move that *maybe* gets us out of the 1st round.

I'd like to see the actual stats. I'm a bit skeptical of that one.

So you’re telling me we can get out of the first round and all it’d cost us is a third stringer? Where do I sign?

I found it. Here's the money quote from that article though:
    https://hoopshype.com/2018/11/11/ca...-have-success-in-the-nba-as-a-post-up-threat/
In Portland, under Stott's direction, what type of shot do you think Melo would be shooting? Yep.... He'd be a spot-up shooter.

So an average shooter with terrible defense (even worse than CJ's). Yah, I'm going to pass.

Damn I would love those “empty stats” off the bench.

And you base that off of what? Because Aldridge definitely wasn’t a spot up shooter. Neither is Nurkic. Even Collins is posting up more this year. Stotts plays guys to their strengths. It’s not his fault he hasn’t really had post threats.

Actually I thought he'd use him more like LMA. More pick and pops.

I’m coo off Melo. He didn’t want us before he went to OKC when he had just a little intrigue left. So fuck him now. We don’t forget..
