What comes out of his mouth and how he play his last game in Houston tells me different. Body language in my eyes till me he didn't like his situation in Houston.

Stotts doesn't like to have a player that needs post touches. I can't remember the exact quote but he said something to the effect of how the offense flows better now that he doesn't have to feed Aldridge (without naming him).

I'm sure Melo wants to go to the Lakers.

My guess is he waits for what he thinks is the best option for him. He wants to be on a good team, but good teams don't need him.....yet. So maybe he waits until a good team gets hit with a season ending injury and needs an extra scorer to fill the void?

I doubt he would consider a 10-3 Portland team where he would be blamed if they started to lose. But he might consider a Portland team after they go into a slump and needs a veteran scorer.

Right now his stock is at an all time low. He needs to choose his next team wisely. He wants to win but does not want to sit. There are not a lot of options. I think his best options are Milwaukee or Portland. Not sure either wants him.

Getting Carmelo would be fun and entertaing...at least for awhile. If he sucks, we can trade or bench him. But I think he would help the team.

They have to actually cut him first.

...he just needs to follow the Marbury model and go be a hero in China for the next several years! No contender wants to give him 30+ minutes per game and no middling team wants to stunt their talent progression with him in the way. Unless he can somehow channel Vince Carter and get over his ego to extend his career in the NBA he's on the outside looking in.

Carmelo wishes he were as good a player as Vince. Really interesting to compare their career numbers (Melo through last year, Vince through 2014--15 years each).

Identical PER's. Melo has the scoring numbers, but Vince has advanced numbers (WS, BPM, VORP). One helps himself, the other helps his team.

I don't think they will cut him now. Houston probably will wait until they can try to trade him for something and if that don't work then they will waive him.

Any player signed at this point in the season is ineligible to be traded.

This thread is officially scaring me.

Replace Aminu's defense with Melo's ball stopping offense? And other assorted nightmare scenarios?

    No thanks.

You know that statement kind of sums it up. What does that say about him if we are genuinely happy if he goes to one of our competitors?
Is there anyone out there that would actually care if he chose another team over the Blazers. Does anyone fear Melo anymore?
Damn I used to. When he was with Denver we could not stop him late in games. That seems forever ago.

Harkless should be back later on this road trip. That's the decider for me. We don't need him. You might as well close the thread.

Here's him in 1 on 1 drills. Can't remember where the actual post of his return time line was. I closed the window before I remember the source. But if they aren't 100 per cent certain they will probably just skip the next six games anyway. Layman is doing just fine.
