Tired of discussing college basketball in the Zion thread. Granted, 80% of the talk will be about Zion, but I felt like we should separate it.

I'll also be posted bracketology in here. I've devised a very complicated formula based on team stats and metrics that bracketologists use to seed teams, and have gotten very close to what they determined last year. This formula will be used to predict what seed line each time is on in present time. Click the thumbnail below to see my table.

(SPI will always be 100.0 for the top team, and apx. 60.0 for the at-large cutline).

Still have feel IQ questions about Rui. Team D looks a little better, but he still blows assignments and I'm not sure how his mid post game w/o any real playmaking translates into a valuable role in the NBA.

Cam looked really good vs Auburn. Lacks a killer instinct, but super smooth and and plays pretty smart on both ends. Easily Duke's most skilled half court offensive player.

Came away w/ more questions about Zion. Incredible physical specimen and has skills but still pretty raw on both ends and has some positional and long term health uncertainty.

I've always thought RJ Barrett was overrated and nothing changed my opinion on that today.

I watched my Cyclones earlier today. They blew it against Arizona yesterday, but took care of business today against Illinois. They are without 3 starters due to injury and suspension, so I was actually surprised they competed with Arizona yesterday.

I can bring a Big 12 perspective to this thread, but won't relate to all the Pac 12 talk much.

Yeah impressed at how they've played without Wigginton. That dudes a stud.

I love watching college ball in general.

Im gonna be honest. I love basketball, but College Basketball would be so much better to me if the AAU / HS systems actually taught guys how to play, how to shoot, fundamentals. Especially the ultra talented prospects they’re all so raw. Some guys are further than others but its scary how much some of these guys lack even basic basketball things.

They make up for it with spirited play. I think the mesh of urban-grown AAU athletes that don't really know how to play combined with the small school kids that do is fun.

I just love the spirit and competitiveness of it, as well as the crowds.

Plan to watch some of the Maui Invitational over Thanksgiving. Mainly just been watching Oregon games outside of the NBA. Man, we need Louis King back bad. There aren't enough shooters or creators on the team to free up a the flow of offense. Will Richardson looks like a future stud though. Really works well off the pick and roll and works well as either a ball handler or shooter. Just a natural combo guard. I'm also glad Abu Kigab stayed. He's a real spark plug off the bench and on defense.

Gonzaga with a dominant 2nd half. Went from down 13 to winning by 17.

1 Duke vs. 3 Gonzaga at 2PM tomorrow. Rui vs. Zion. Norvell vs. Barrett. Gonna be a great matchup, and a Gonzaga win would be HUGE!

I was a team manager for Iowa State back in college. Fun times! I love college basketball as well. Much different than the NBA, but no need to compare the two.

Man Oregon was so close to getting Wigginton. He visited and was deadset on going here and then changed his mind when he made a late visit to Iowa State. Probably best for him though as they could really feature him in their offense. Still wish we had picked up a second point guard this recruiting cycle.

Iowa State has a good Canadian pipeline, that helped us a lot with him. We felt like we were the front runner for him and would have been really disappointed if we didn't get him. Most figure he will go to the NBA after this season, but not sure with this foot injury. He is supposed to be back in December.

Yeah. Oregon's assistant coach Mike Mennenga is on the Canadian Olympic Team and has gotten us talents like Dillon Brooks and Chris Boucher. I think we've gone away a bit from Canadian prospects though since they are recruited a lot more the last few years. We were high on RJ Barrett's list but once Duke got involved it was over. Altman is trying to go back to J.C.'s and recruit players from the South now more.

I'll cheer for Oregon in the tournament because of my roots growing up in Portland, but don't follow much in the regular season. Was really disappointed they got beat by the Hawkeyes the other day. I really dislike the Hawkeyes because I'm a Cyclone through and through. But it looks like Iowa is going to be much better than expected this year. I'll be at the Iowa vs Iowa State bball game in a few weeks. Probably the only game I'll get to this year.

Wasn't surprised we lost. McCaffrey's teams always return a lot of players and can shoot the lights out. By contrast, Altman's teams don't peak until the NCAA Tournament.

Been following him for 2 or 3 years now. He wasn't even a top 10 recruit a couple years ago.
