Figure put his shoulder or nervousness, and we have an all-star. Better chance of getting all-star that way than drafting a guy like Jaylen Hoard.

He has a lot of proving to do before he's an all star as on the Blazers he might end up being the 3rd best guard on the team at best, but not an all star.

ESPN is reporting that Fultz will be seeing another specialist next week. Either the ones he saw this week didn't tell him what he wanted to hear, or his problems are really exotic. Either way, his trade value just keeps shrinking. :dunno:

Exactly, some never make the transition to the NBA game while others come out of nowhere and end up having a very productive career and possible all star level. Being a star in college gets you drafted, but production in the NBA makes you a true NBA player and longevity.

Aminu for Fultz makes sense for both sides, but only if Portland is hovering around .500. No way Olshey makes that deal if they’re in the top 3 or whatever. I’d also throw in Curry into the deal in that scenario

Comparing this to the situation of others is foolish. Some dont have it. He has a fucked up shoulder. With a healthy shoulder, he would've been an all-star, 100% guaranteed.

So you have examined his shoulder and seen the tests performed? The only thing we have on Fultz is one year of college. Are you saying he will be better than Lillard, CJ, Booker, Harden, Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Donovan Mitchell, Jrue Holliday, Derozan and the list goes on. Saying he will be an all star is easy to say, actually being an all star is a long road ahead especially if he came to the west.

By the way, the post of mine you responded to was about Josh Jackson.

In this case the risk is worth the reward. Buying low is rarely a bad idea.

but he is also owed 8.3mil, 9.7mil and 12.3 mil this year and the next 2. That's not low. Also guards aren't a weakness. We need a strong small forward that can score, shoot the 3 and defend.

He spent 3 days with a specialist he and his agent chose for a second opinion. The result? He is off to another specialist for a 3rd opinion. You must admit, this smacks of Dr shopping.

Where did I say all of that? I mean all-star in terms of production, and I dont necessarily mean immediately.

I thought we were only discussing Fultz, so that's why it was weird to me. Makes sense now.

Please trade Turner for JR Smith before it's too late. The Cavs are one of the only teams dumb enough to make a trade like that. I don't even care if JR Smith just stays at home and never shows up. He only has a cap hit of $3.87 million next year instead of the $18.6 million ET will make.

Why do we get the three best players?

Out of that group, CJ is the best player, but I agree that it's lopsided.

    Mahinmi is 100% useless.

It’s not that bad of a trade all in all. They shed some salary, take shorter deals and get one very good player. It won’t happen though, too big of a trade.

I like that trade. Dame, Beal, Nurk, Porter Jr. , and Chief is a stout starting 5.

Already, Portland is closer to being out of the Playoffs completely than they are to the #1 spot.....held by the star-less Clippers. Mavericks and TWolves are both 7-3 in their last 10 and gaining very quickly for now. As some point, the Blazers will probably get 'hot' again but I have almost zero confidence that is it is something that can be replicated or maintained in the Playoffs.....as currently built and coached.

This team needs to move several players. As constructed they may not even make the post season. The Dame and CJ show has only so many wins in it. We don't need to keep thinking it's gonna work next year if we just add one more piece.

I don't hate CJ...he just may be the best piece to move to change the way the offense flows.

Or we can just keep doing the same thing over and over and wait for the result to change???
