Portland Grey Foxes, with the nickname of the Greys.

And if you're not a fan of the team, the nickname could be "the Gheys".

(apologizes to anyone who made that reference already)

wait another 5 years for baseball to fix their issues and then probably watch as they change their minds about expansion.

But they have to keep moving forward with plans to build a stadium, no?

I would bet that they have some kind of promise from MLB that they should continue with the stadium stuff.

If they take the full 85 acres of T1 and T2 then I think they would have to find 85 acres of land to rezone as industrial since they are rezoning that land to entertainment. It might not have to be the full 85 acres but something along those lines.

There is a bunch of environmental stuff they have to clear.

Then there is the transportation issues. They have to get some sort of mass transit approved to that area, which would most likely be another Max route. The whole area's roads will need to be upgraded to accommodate all the traffic flowing to that area on game nights. As of right now there is no way that area could support 30,000 people going there for a game.

The land has a prospective deal in place. Now they have some hurdles to get over. They need to deal with the city for things like zoning which needs to be replaced to keep the numbers in order. If you use land zoned for certain uses in a different manner you must replace that land somewhere else. Then there is a stadium to build. It takes essentially a year to work out the bidding and pre job process. Then the contracts are awarded. When that happens there will be all sorts of logistical issues they need to take care of.

    That is for starters.

Yep the zoning is pretty much the first biggest issue. But that really isn't an issue beings pretty much everyone on the city council and the mayor are on board with the project.

Just opened an email from a contractor asking me to start the beginning elements of a Pre-Job. This includes things like status of the Hitachi cranes and the river access. Very beginning looks. That site would use barges to move most of the materials. This opens up a bunch of fabrication options.
