The whole team sucks because they are not getting consistent touches in the offense then they are blamed when they miss the few opportunities they get... this has been my whole point on why I’m so against the McLillard duo... not only the defensive liability of an all under 6’3” backcourt which is obvious, but also the stagnation that is unavoidable in the offense when you have 2 players taking half the shots... nothing will change until we trade CJ
It's kind of hard to watch CJ this year. He seems to have more difficulty in just about everything. Even the basic shots he was almost automatic on are harder.
His FG% and TS% are higher than his career averages and up from last year. So comments like this are interesting.
Those two stats represent the entire measure of his season? You can look a FG% and TS% and that's it. Their isn't a deficient part of his game in ANY other way. I don't follow stats because so many in here do. But your ABSOLUTELY SURE I don't need to look anywhere else or use any other statistical analysis. Because if you say so, since I have no desire to spend the next thirty minutes analyzing his game.
You said "the basic shots he was almost automatic on are harder", yet he's shooting a better % from the field. You don't find that interesting?
It could be threes, tear drops, fade away jumpers.... I am just wondering if FG% is the total measure of his game. If you say it is fine.
I'd appreciate him more today if he made that fairly easy shot at the end of the game on Friday night.
At this point, I would take a lateral move just to make things interesting... for a team not going anywhere, it is tiring watching the same thing over and over again for almost 3 years now... it’s not going to work... try something different and new for the fans to watch
I never said it was a total measure of his game. I thought you were implying that CJ was struggling with his shot and getting worse looks. FG% incorporates both 2's and 3's.
Well that's what I want to know then. If FG% is the major indicator of his shooting, then I guess he is doing fine. I thought he looked like he was having difficulty with some of his go to moves this season. But I guess the data suggests otherwise.
Well he struggled for a good portion of last year too. 2 years ago seems to be an outlier at this point.
There is no such thing as a lateral move in trading CJ is there? He would be traded for a SF or PF or a combination of players. Either way, we would be forced to play a different style because he was gone. Therefore it couldn't be lateral? Wouldn't that be a move in the right direction?
Yea I guess your right. But I would just trade him for draft picks at this point. The post LMA era has been pretty much a failure anyways. I would mutually work with Dame as well to see where he would like to play as well and just build everything from the ground up
I mean he played well... Lets not forget it was against ATL at home, when Dame was out so he had the ball in his hands a lot. I dont consider myself a CJ hater, but I feel the same about him now, as I did 3 hours ago.
Do want to point out that over his past 10 games, CJ is shooting nearly 48% from the field, 44.6% from 3, and has better than a 2:1 asst/tov ratio. Perhaps he's out of the funk that seemed to plague him the first half of the season?
