Ethics are legal. That's how they differ from morality. Ethics are rules set by differing professions. We had our ethics in engineering, doctors have theirs, lawyers have theirs, CPAs have theirs and so on. When these rules are violated, and it's really hard to prove a violation in most cases, there are consequences, legal consequences. When one of us violates one of our moral principals, unless it somehow violates the law or some ethic, there are no legal consequences. When I was a kid, the grocery clerk gave me back too much change which I kept. That's an example of how I violated one of my moral principles. When I was older, but still young man, I grew some marijuana among my mother's flowers. She blamed my younger brother and I kept my mouth shut, that was a moral violation which I regret to this day, especially now that they're both gone. I haven't reviewed the ethics for engineers in a long time now but I seem to recall a clause that said an ethical violation must be conscious. This means an honest goof is different than a willful violation.
They steal states. Through gerrymandering the republicans have drawn county lines in such a way that they can never lose power in Wisconsin even if the Democrats get 205,000 more votes. Wisconsins only hope now is that enough republican voters see what bullshit this is vote the other way the other way. Unfortunately, this isn't very likely to happen as many republicans are happy their side can't lose power. Its not about sides anymore. We are all American. If we don't stop this shit its going to keep happening to more and more states. North Carolina already did it. Michigan is about to. This is fucking ridiculous. Partisan politics had gotten to the point of subverting the will of the American people.
But there are also very fine people, on both sides. So everything is equivalent, and nothing matters. It's a good attitude if you want a completely amoral society. barfo

No, that isn't it. Nobody here said that democrats never behave hypocritically. And hypocrisy isn't really the issue here, extreme partisanship (party over state) is. I, at least, will stipulate that most people, including elected democrats, are hypocrites on occasion. And some elected democrats are corrupt. And many elected democrats are overly partisan. However, excusing bad behavior by saying 'everybody does it', like you almost always do, is a way of enabling and encouraging that bad behavior. barfo
I’m not encouraging it, I just don’t believe in honest politics. Even at a local level. Watched this documentary called dark money the other day. Local politics. It just confirmed what I already know. Politicians are bought and paid for. I find it ridiculous people get so divided and hateful over politics when none of them care about you or me. It’s a circus. I for one care about politics because it affects my life and I want better for myself and my country. We can do better and the biggest problem makers at the moment is Trump and the Republicans. I criticize the Democrats when they deserve it and when they are in power doing shitty things that affects my life then they will recieve the majority of my criticism. Until then apathy is the same as being republican
This is what happens when they WIN elections. The Republican Governor was elected and is serving his term. Dem Governor is was elected for NEXT TERM.
