People who hate him probably are racist. #yesisaidit.

And "practice" was taken so far out of context.

His best friend was JUST killed. No he didn't give a fuck about practice. Neither would I....

I fucking love Allen Iverson. So much so, I find it impossible to believe anyone dislikes him.

Since I live close to Philly, I can tell you the region appreciated his effort and determination. Iverson had almost every body part injured. He carried on like a hockey player rather than a snob basketball millionaire.

Iverson and Sheed were my favorite non Blazer and Blazer from that era.

    I win.

Not exactly sure how you could be a fan of Iverson and Sheed at the same time? Absolutely total opposite ends of the spectrum.

Sheed could play but was a terrible player. Never really learned how to play the game in the NBA. Certainly not while on the Blazers.

You know AI had has problems, he’s admitted to them several times, but the guy played his heart out. I loved watching him play. I love what he has become as a man too, he’s matured, he’s passionate, and most importantly to me he’s taken all those ups and all those downs and become a vocal leader. He’s willing to say what he thinks what he believes, he admits to his mistakes.

AI is one of my favorite basketball players ever.

He was a great player, it was about getting him to assert the greatness, that was the problem. So much talent but didnt have mentality to be the alpha. Weird reading someone say he was a terrible player...

    This.

I don't know anything firsthand but I always thought he wanted everything to be fair. To a fault, which was why I thought he let the refs get to him..

Iverson was pound for pound the toughest, more fearless little guy to play the game as a franchise star...Mugsy was tough but Iverson was a star...he'd climb Shaq's chest to make a layup...I'm talking throughout his prime..it's probably why he was taped up like the Mummy all the time. Guy was a scoring machine..couldn't guard a paper bag though...Mugsy was that guy

So I can take a step back and try to understand where you're coming from, can you elaborate on that? Obviously you don't have too, I just feel like were talking about two different players. So I'm interested to hear why you think he wasn't a good player.

The player i watched did not play the game well. The player i watched was not good at playing NBA basketball.
Wallace could shoot and score. He had the quickness to create but wouldn't do it. He had the size and length to be a premier defender but wouldn't do it. He could bang and make an impact around the rim but rarely did it. His three point shooting which he decided was his best shot was not his best shot at all. His career numbers at 3pt were 33% but in Portland he was mostly in the 20's. But that didn't keep him from shooting them.
I watched this guy single handedly destroy a team that should have won a championship if not 2. 15 point meltdown to lose after throwing a towel in Sabonis's face. Literally what the fuck was he even thinking?
His shenanigans on and off the court did no one any good. He hated Portland from the get go.

Personally i don't see much at all that this guy did that was worthy of respect or even a nod from this fan base.
There is no reason to discuss this. The dude hated Portland and the team. He hated the fans. He disrespected the owner as well as the coaches. The Technicals didn't help the team. You can have a bunch of talent but if you can't play the game and follow the rules you are of no use to the team. Just because it's been 18 years doesn't mean we forget.

I loved AI. He was a beast. But that article isn't worth reading. I don't feel like it accomplished anything, just a bunch of rambling.
