Fair enough, but you started a thread to answer a question that has a one and done response. No opinions to be had. Just, when can we trade him?

I mean you didnt even provide a trade scenerio to spawn comments with opinions.

Ive seen this site eat king alive forcthis type of thread.

    Google is your friend bro.

Also. There are murderers im this world. Doesnt means its okay for me to murder...

Stauskas need to just settle down. Too many herky jerky plays. He has skills. Just needs to slow down a little and think before he does.

If we were to trade Stauskas, two questions come to mind.
How is he valued around the league, Nd what do we think he could net us in return???

Questions maybe the OP had intended on asking as well. :)

Id say his value MIGHT net us a second round pick right now. Not sure how the league values him.
But i bet its less than Blazer fans.

So if he has little value and will net little in return, what is the point of making him a priority to move?
He is new to this team and most players require time for adjustments. Combine that with Stotts irratic and mind boggling rotational changes,
I think he is providing what we brought him in for. As he continues to gel i hope his defense improves. He has a solid three. He can drive to the hoop. He moves well off the ball.

@Rastapopoulos you started this thread, is this just a personal bias or do you care to justify this thread with any specifics as to why this should be a focal point for the Blazers?

Nice guy but no thanks. if anything. Stauskas is quicker it seems. Both in physical speed and decision making and he seems to have more of a “ go for the throat” mentality that pattyc had.

I'm not sure what people expected from Stauskas....?

    * he arrived in Portland with a career PER under 9.0 and he's at 11.6 right now; his highest ever

    * he arrived in Portland with a career TS% of about 52.5% and he's at 56.3% right now; his highest ever

    * he arrived in Portland with a career assist/36 of 2.7 and he's at 3.4 right now; his highest ever

    * His FG%, 2ptFG%, 3ptFG%, and eFG% are all well above his career marks and 3 of 4 of those are his highest marks ever

Stauskas is actually performing and producing above most of his career norms, and he's on a minimum deal...Blazers are getting their money's worth, but obviously, they aren't getting a real bargain like Minny is getting with Derrick Rose.

I know some people expected a lot more from both Stauskas and Curry, but those expectations were simply unrealistic. Both players are simply below average NBA performers, just like Napier and Connaughton were. And both players have been bad at defense everywhere they've played, but bad defense seem to be an ancillary non-skill that Olshey almost always manages to find....

    here's the real issue:

    Victor Claver-Joel Freeland-Jared Jeffries-Eric Maynor-Sasha Pavlovic-Ronnie Price-Thomas Robinson-Earl Watson-Dorell Wright-Steve Blake-Chris Kaman-Cliff Alexander-Pat Connaughton-Gerald Henderson-Luis Montero-Brian Roberts-Shabazz Napier-Tim Quarterman-Wade Baldwin-Georgios Papagiannis-Caleb Swanigan

now, people can see where I'm going with this and some will accuse me of just taking another opportunity to bash Neil Olshey. They'd be right because I do bash Olshey most times when an opportunity presents itself. I do that because 1) he deserves it, 2) I enjoy it, 3) it's part of the landscape of entertainment I derive from the Blazers

also, every team will have similar lists of weak and nearly useless players over a half-dozen years; and in the case of Blake and Kaman and a couple of others, players almost past the end of their useful days. But the fact is that Olshey has cheap-screwed together just about every bench he's put together and this is his 7th one. 7 summers of strapping on his snorkel and deep diving into the bargain bin. What sets the last couple of benches apart is that few teams, if any, have had 186M dollars in contracts sitting on their benches like Portland has had in Crabbe, Turner, and Meyers

so then, sure, 'trade Stauskas'. Portland could trade him for a top-59 protected pick and it wouldn't alter their trajectory in any fashion. The problem is the guy that would be trading Stauskas is the same guy that thought it was a great idea to build a 2nd unit around the questionable skills of Turner then to build one that complemented what the starters do; the same guy that was convinced that Curry and Stauskas were a significant upgrade over Napier and Connaughton; the same guy that wanted Meyers to get the minutes Ed Davis got last season

    so don't expect anything different

Seriously. I just don't see how anyone can argue with you on that. Maybe a player here and there. There are reasons that players come and go. But seriously i don't think this is anything more than a Portland problem. Been said for a lot of years players don't want to come here.

This is a complete cop-out. It may be true for some players, but the vast majority look at the opportunity & try to find their best situation for their career.

Its this 'small minset' that is a bigger issue.

I bet I can find more quotes by top tier players saying they don’t want to play in Portland and that it isn’t conducive to young black men than you can find that feel it’s a great place to play and live.
Remember.... I actually work for an ex Blazer.

You realize that at least half of the players listed didnt have a choice in coming here?
