The Fake News has become so rampant and obvious as to wonder where you can get an actual true, objective story anymore. But this one has to take the cake....for now. In the grand tradition of NBC's Brian Williams, 2014 CNN Award Winner for Journalist of the Year Claus Relotius has resigned for submitting articles for which details "included made up material from interviews that never happened." There were a ton of links reporting this and some of them report this has been going on for years. Oops... https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...as-relotius-fake-news-der-spiegel/2373298002/
A German who works for a German paper, but got an award from CNN. Whoopdeedoo. We should play a game of lying media members. That'll be fun. Lets start with Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly.
Maybe this would be more appropriate in a German forum somewhere. This has nothing to do with news in the USA.
You know the old story, any port in a storm and I think Trump is entering a typhoon. Anyhow, it's proof positive that the world is out to get Conservatives starting with the "Mass Media".
Help us out, where in the OP does it say CNN is bad? Just that they gave out the award for him being Journalist of the Year. That was just an identifying piece of information about the guy who resigned. Now if someone wants to question their checking of sources, credentials etc....that would probably be a legitimate query.
The "award" he won was 4 years ago and had nothing to do with the reason he was fired. So why bring it up other than to further discredit CNN?
Whats crazy to me is that Fox & CNN or MSNBC are nothing more than propaganda spreading media viewed and political leanings and extremism. And the ones that usually denounce the others are a great example of the extremism going on in our culture, totally sold out one way or another and so far left or right, and there both crazy.
Our media sources are more reliable than the lying president we have. It really isn't that hard to separate out the fake news for what is legitimate. I will agree that the media is a bit obsessed with Trump, but the guy gives them legitimate reason almost everyday. When Trump comes out and says something and then he is fact checked, is that fake news?
Trump started his campaign targeting the media as his scapegoat....he has verbally assaulted any institution that does not give him praise or follow his ranting. It's all this shallow speck of a man knows.
I'm not disputing that Trump stuff at all, don't like him as president, my deal is it doesn't matter what network you watch they both are obsessed with their political leanings versus just the news. Everything is politically slanted to appeal to certain demographics to earn ratings.
It was this way when Bush Clinton Obama was in office too. The cable channels with 24/7 thrive and survive off politically radical audiences.
There is also plenty of truth in there as well. Trump has been pushing this fake media campaign since the very beginning. Sure maybe other presidents have mentioned it at times, but Trump almost does it on a daily basis. A well educated person with some common sense knows how to differentiate. A perfect example is Trump says the investigation has cost the tax payers 40 mil one day and then a few days later says 30mil. How can one be off by 10 mil? When fact checked it has been shown to be somewhere over 20 mil, and that the investigation has already confiscated property and assets of over 40 mil which is a net gain for the tax payers, but Trump never speaks of that. The "fake news" has reported it pretty accurately and conflicts with Trump's real fake news.
These news cable networks are like modern day churches, where you have Protestants, Catholics, Jewish, Muslim, and others all signed up and attending faithfully their cable church of choice.
I agree with the lying shit they should be held accountable regardless of party. Even Obama said "if you want to keep your insurance you will be able too" he didn't need to say that to promote his plan.
Not sure why you brought Obama into this as the faults that Obama had would be similar to comparing a petty car thief to Charles Manson. Both were at fault, but nowhere near the same extent. About the only president that Trump can be compared to in my time is Nixon.
