Trump has no leverage as he lost it when he continues to pull an about face when he makes an agreement and the Senate already passed a bill that would likely be passed by the House and even possibly pass a veto over turn. Dems have twice had an agreement with Trump and he back stabs them. Why should they now conceded anything to him?

compromise is the key to anything this big and important. for some chain migration, others the visa process, still others the "Barrier"( when we take out the contentious WALL from the conversation, and rename, perhaps it can be included in some areas of border security). i suspect that a national database for employee verification needs to be included, as well as better tracking of those in the visa programs. state voter id laws will likely be a focus of conservatives to be included in the process. i think that anyone here illegally needs to go to the back of the line unless a compromise such as lanny suggested for those that can prove that they have been here for 10 years, stayed out of trouble and stayed off welfare could be an acceptable compromise though their status as un documented will make any verification process difficult. if they have had a green card for those ten years maybe. i just don't know. MarAzul reminds us that the last "amnesty" for illegals under reagan, reform went no where, so they will likely be way down the list for citizenship as a result. before our current president, fencing and barriers were a component of the conversation, will need to be again.
expecting mexico to pay for anything is silly in my opinion, expecting the american taxpayer to foot the bill for a 30' tall concrete barrier of limited utility ranks nearly as high with me. it is interesting that some conservative think tanks of a decade ago advocated for "open borders" in the hopes of weakening unions and depressing wages for business. funny how the positions change.

mccain-kennedy bipartisan bill never voted on. some genuinely good ideas.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comprehensive_Immigration_Reform_Act_of_2006
this one got passed in the senate 62-38, but house conservatives killed it.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borde...m_and_Illegal_Immigration_Control_Act_of_2005
house measure that passed but doa in senate cause of sanctuary criminality and a couple of other"hardline" items.
just food for thought cause there is nothing ever new under the sun.
these were all during republican house and senate majorities.

the first line in the article will either make you lol, or cry inconsolably.
is a dem sponsored bill that has elements of rep. bills, and differs on border security though allows for the Dept Homeland security to address illegal immigration as a goal oriented funding. come up with plan, implement and show results. interesting talking points

kind of sums up the recent process.

How do you know he crossed illegally at the Southern border with Mexico? Maybe he did or maybe he didn't. Maybe it was just someone who weighs 400 lbs. sitting on his mother's bed.

Thats what I heard the chief of police say?
Im all for legal immigrants, I have friends and relatives that are here legally. They all agree that harden criminals/gang members shouldn't be allowed in as they have no respect for the innocent and/or laws.

The Chief of Police is quoted as saying that it was inappropriate for them to disclose his name. Did he change his mind?

Read paragraphs 5 and 6 in the following link -

I also am a cancer survivor 'cause I had it cut out. I now take a pill every morning an hour before eating to compensate for the gland removed.

I was given one option and so I took it. Well, I guess I did have the other option of dying.
My VA doctor was superb and a close personal friend of Dr. Fauci, the head of the CDC's department of infectious diseases. Dr. Fauci is the guy interviewed during the Ebola scare on the national news. They actually revised to specification on my type of cancer because of my case. Kind of cool except I've got to take the pill every day an hour before breakfast for the rest of my life.
We should get together and toast our good luck in beating that shit.

He only had two prior DUI's.

One more and they might have deported him. Ok, five or six more and he would have been given a stern talking to.

Should they deport everyone who gets a DUI? If they're here legally such as being a U.S. citizen, should they throw them in the slammer with a felony if they get a DUI?

If you catch your grandchild stealing 20 bucks from your wallet would you call the cops?

If you catch another fan at the Blazer game stealing 20 bucks from your wallet will you treat him the same way as you would family?

I fail to understand your point.
If a person is caught in a DUI they get punished, right? The question was, should they be deported. I'd like to stick to that thread.

Why don't you get the point? It is quite obvious.

Americans of all colors are part of a collective. Illegal aliens aren't.

I choose who to marry to extend my family. Some chick didn't just break in my house and call MARRIED!!!
