Ehhh, I don't really see anyway he could go wrong with $9M in a buyers market, and I think he might've learned from it. Itd be awesome to get someone like Wes Matthews off the bench.

A salary dump like the one you proposed isn't just imperfect, it's asinine.

Or like my trade proposal from earlier we could potentially have Porter, Mikal Bridges, and be able to use the full-MLE all while keeping our pick too. We'd also have the full bird rights on Wes so we would have an advantage in retaining him.

I don't know if you just have selective reading or what but I said in my post that a salary dump trade is not something I'd consider but I wanted to explore options with every team. I even said that it didn't make sense in those proposals.

I've also stated numerous times that an ideal CJ trade would include a stud player or a combination of expiring contracts, a young wing with potential on a rookie deal, and a 1st round pick.

    Not against trading CJ.
But at the end of the day, it took until late in the game last night for a poster to mention that 'Even CJ is playing defense'.
    Why is that?
I've seen him giving more effort on the defensive end for a week or so now.
Doesn't always work out because the guy is a below average defender. But in the past I've only seen this effort out of CJ in the playoffs against Thompson.

Be nice if CJ could keep this part of his game.(Doubtful)

Huh? Hield torched CJ in the first half of that game! I think he had 5 threes in the half.

    Common now Hoops.
You know CJ wasn't the only one guarding Hield during that. Hell the 5th three in transition right before the timeout even Calaboro knew CJ wasn't guarding Hield there.
Just because both are the 2 doesn't mean they're responsible for one another.
Won't even mention how many of those were transition threes where the entire team is responsible.

    Not to mention I said.

You said there was no mention of CJ'S defense until late in the game. I'm telling you it's because he wasn't playing good defense earlier.

And I'm telling you that just because one player hits 3 or 4 transition threes at the SG spot, doesn't mean the other SG is always responsible.
This isn't 2k and you know better.

Hell even Calaboro knew Moe was responsible for at least one of those in transition.
I would never say Calaboro watches the game closer than anyone on this forum.

Shit it's not like I said CJ was Tony Allen.

I’ll take my chances in free agency over a late first that won’t contribute for three years.

Harkless had to switch onto Hield the second half because CJ was getting torched.

Pretty much impossible to answer without knowing what deals are available and unfortunately non of us are privy to that. With those 3 large contracts becoming expiring contracts could be a nice asset to work with in the off season or until the trade deadline next year (I know your opinions is they don't have much value, but I'm not convinced of that.)

So a player that is known to be a scorer gets hot and makes some 3 point shots is all because of poor defense by one player? Who plays defense on Lillard and McCollum when they go off? Is it because they are successful scorers or just poor defenders guarding them? Scorers score and when a player like any of those mentioned get in that groove, they can be next to impossible to stop no matter who is guarding them.

What? Stotts doesn't make in game adjustments. At least that's what I have seen posted many times in this forum.

It will have to happen organically. We need Zach to take another step up and we need Moe to be consistently healthy and engaged. If those things happen we'll be fine.

I agree with you. There are games where he scores and becomes the dominant scorer as was the case against Philly. When you look at the Blazers team overall, the group lacks defensive strength. Nurk may put his hands up but rarely do I see blocks. Dame can steal but overall he is the catalyst on the 3 point line and drives. Where is Harkless? The Chief, possible, is the best defender amongst the group.

Fine enough to maybe make the 2nd round if everything pans out in our favor?

Really Cup, you're going to give a bad defender a pass because the player he played against is a good shooter?

Way to not look at the big picture.

So then who torched McCollum in the second half?
