I said he didn't have a 10-man rotation. Context is key.
When we had this discussion back then, I described why, despite some games had 10 players playing, it wasn't a true 10-man rotation.
Playing 13 guys in a blowout doesn't mean we have a 13-man rotation.

Was I right about him not having a 10-man rotation last year? Yes. Was I right about him not having a 10-man this year? No. Were you wrong about how Stauskas being good? Yes. Am I trying to trigger you? Possibly.

No reason for your curiosity as I see nothing wrong with what I posted.

I know this has been complained about a ton on here, but why get happy about trying to trigger someone? That just drags down everything in here. And it's every thread. A simple disagreement just delves into long running feuds, and each one turns out the same until resurrected in a new thread. Woohoo.

The Milwaukee Bucks are up now. They are a team that has some very interesting possibilities and could possibly want CJ. If any trades brought back Middleton or Brogdon I would do it even though there is a chance either could leave after this season (Brogdon is restricted though).

CJ, Aminu, and Swanigan for Middleton, Snell, and Ilyasova. This was a trade I saw on a Bucks board. I just like the way Middleton would fit on both ends with this team. Snell's contract isn't great but he's an okay wing off the bench. Ilyasova would fit well in this offense.

CJ, Swanigan, and Trent for George Hill, Thon Maker, and Malcolm Brogdon (Would have to wait until February 6th). The Bucks have basically given up on Thon. We could probably get him without CJ as a side note. George Hill could be waived in the summer and only counts $1 million against the cap next year. He'd be a solid PG on our 2nd unit. Looking at Brogdon's stats this year make me want him pretty bad. He's got a 62.3% True Shooting % and is shooting over 42% from 3 this year.

Like I said I could probably get behind any CJ trade that got us either Middleton or Brogdon.

Yes. The idea of Courtney Lee being our savior is there to stay.

Why would Milwaukee give up Middleton? He seems to be really popular player there and a really good player>

Speaking of Milwaukee I wonder what it would take to get Christian wood. He’s not in their rotation but he’s absolutely killing it in the g league averaging nearly 30 points a game. He’s also got a non guaranteed contract for next season. He’d fit into the Vonleh TPE.

Maker and DJ Wilson would interest me as well. I’d play any of the three over Meyers.

Give up CJ to get Brogdon..?
Look at all the likes this post got.

I’d do that too if we got Middleton along with brogdon

Fun fact--Brogdon was drafted with one of the 2nd round picks we gave up to get Robin Lopez.

yeah...it's fun to track the evolution of assets involved in trades

before the trade deadline in 2011, the Blazers made that big trade when they landed Gerald Wallace for Przybilla, Dante Cunningham, Sean Marks and two first round picks. Seemed like a fair price, both ways, but it turned out that Wallace only added 6 wins to Portland's total in his stint as a Blazer if you go by winshares

the first pick Portland gave up was the 19th pick in the 2011 draft used on Tobias Harris. Portland acquired that 19th pick by trading Jerryd Bayless; and they got Bayless with the 11th pick by trading Jarret Jack and Josh McRoberts to Indiana along with a 13th pick. Jack was landed in the trade when Portland traded out of the 3rd spot in the 2005 draft bi-passing Chris Paul in favor of Martell Webster. McRoberts was added with a 2nd in the 2007 draft because he was good friends with the prize in that draft, Greg Oden, and KP thought that would make things better for Oden. Getting back to the 2011 draft, don't worry, Portland had their own 21st pick in that draft and this is what happened:

    19 Tobias Harris
    21 Nolan Smith
    22 Kenneth Faried
    23 Nikola Mirotic
    24 Reggie Jackson
    29 Cory Joseph
    30 Jimmy Butler
    31 Bojan Bogdanovic
    38 Chandler Parsons

the result of that draft is that every Blazer fan knows what the standard is for worst PG in franchise history.

the second 1st Portland traded for Wallace ended up being the 24th pick in the 2014 draft Charlotte used on Shabazz Napier who a year later was traded to Orlando for a 2nd who a year later was traded to Portland for next to nothing.

all-in-all it looks like Portland fucked up that whole evolutionary track except for one minor detail:

Wallace was traded for Lillard, but in an indirect way, if you were prone to hyperbole, you could say Portland turned Jarret Jack into Dame

Didn't most teams pass on most of those players?

    Stauskas

I was pushing for Portland to sign him this fall as an UFA. He had a great summer & last season as well.

Middleton is an unrestricted free agent after this season so they are worried he could leave for nothing. Obviously we would have the same concerns, hence the risk and why the Bucks would consider it. I got directly from a Bucks site.

Check out Brogdon's numbers. You can make a very legit case that he's better than CJ.
