I watched the second half. Didn’t learn anything new. Swanigan is not an nba player. He had 6 points in nearly 30 minutes, two of them in garbage time. Baldwin looked better, started at small forward, 24 points in 28 minutes, 9-19 shooting, 2-4 from outside, 7 boards and only two turnovers. He at least has a chance to stick in the league imo.
Drafting him was one thing, but picking up his option for next year was insane. One of two things are true imo; either Olshey genuinely believes in Biggie, or his ego wouldn’t allow him to admit a mistake. I honestly don’t know which one is worse. I was someone that liked Biggie out of college but it didn’t take me long to realize after watching him in the g league last year, against journeymen, that he didn’t really have a chance, and that I was wrong. It’s not a big deal to admit that, but if Olshey genuinely believes Swanigan is going to make it...FUCK.
Speaking of g league Cam Oliver so far this season: 20 games 27 MPG 16.3 PPG 9 RPG 1.8 APG 1.2 SPG 2.2 BPG 59% FG 76% FT Sign his ass to a two way already.
Another guy that deserves another chance is Anthony Bennett. He doesn’t qualify for a two way but should be in the league imo. He’s been a lights out shooter the last two years (shooting 47% on 5 attempts a game this season) in the g league and does a little bit of everything and is still only 25.
If the Blazers made a trade that cleared a roster spot Id be interested in seeing if Bennett could play.
Kuzma is better than Biggie, but Kuzma’s kind of overrated to me. He’s Gerald green. Nice scorer than can go off once in a while, shoots you out of a lot of games too. I think we would hardly notice him if he wasnt in LA.
