Lots of speculation on Olshey's mindset regarding the roster. What do you think are the uppermost thoughts in Neil's mind as the trade deadline approaches?
Woj evidently said Portland is looking to buy. But it’s Woj, and we know how close he is to Olshey/Portland. My guess/hope/best case scenario is we’ll dump Leonard using our pick and then look at the buyout market for an immediate upgrade.
Better get someone who can take Harkless's spot. This team cannot deal with the post season if they don't have a solid three and D type player.
You do realize that you are inviting for this to become another bash Olshey thread of which there have been more than enough posts already. As a mod, I hope you keep an eye on this and not let it go to the trash like so many other threads.
im sure its been discussed here but supposedly Cleveland has said Kevin Love is getting interest from a team "thats not a destination city" but has 2 stars. Sounds like Portland. Head this on Rip City radio this AM.
If people want to bash on Olshey in this or any other thread, they are welcome to do so. And you are free to subject yourself to reading their Olshey bashing, or not. Liberty reigns supreme.
Here’s the actual quote referenced, just for context “It’s going to have to be a playoff team in a non-destination market,” one of the execs said. “A team that has a couple of stars that isn’t going to get anybody in free agency because they don’t have the room or nobody’s going to go play there.” Said another Western Conference exec: “It’s most definitely going to have to be a good team that feels they’re one player away. It’s not going to be a team like Atlanta or Phoenix.” ——- I don’t know what to think of Love. As a player, he fits. His contract sucks. He’s at least got to prove he’s healthy first. Is he expected back before the deadline?
Yeah, our main need is a starting small forward that can consistently get around 14-15 a night with solid D (it would also be nice if that player can create his own shot when needed) and then either trade Harkless and insert Layman in the rotation for the second unit or bring Mo off the bench.
That would be terrible. Our pick could be like 18-20 range this year which is good. Meyers has actually not been that terrible and he will be expiring in 2020 so we may as well waive and stretch him in the summer or just straight up waive him. I do not see any benefit of attaching a pick to get rid of him now.
I think NO has the teams best interest in mind, and if he can upgrade /balance the roster via trade and ones possible, he'll pull the trigger.
We should be interested in Porter and maybe even Beal (we can't get him though). CJ will be off limits again. Dame, CJ, Nurkic and Collins are untouchable list.
