It prevents people from breaking my window. Think about it.

How is a gun gonna prevent that?

    Think positively.

I don't keep shit in my car.

I'm not worried about any of you.

Again, I move through life positively and without fear. It works for me.

Do you wear a seatbelt, avoid oncoming traffic, swat a wasp landing on your shoulder, bundle up on a cold day, wash your hands after excreting? :dunno:

    Plain and simple common sense.

    Not fear, just not suicidal.

It prevents you from knowing if anyone broke into your house while you were gone. I don't care about a broken window. I care about getting tipped off if someone is in or had been in my house.

They're more likely to break in through your back window anyway. Out of sight.

That's why I have an alarm. Not to keep people out but so I know when they were in.

I live in a gated community. Never wanted to and knew when I first was buying a house that it isn't much of a safety feature.

It is a good way to keep random solicitors out and that's enough for me. Bonus if you have kids is that only the assholes that live there speed through your neighborhood.

If they repeal seatbelt laws I'll still wear it because I'm not a moron.

No need to impugn my lifestyle for not owning a firearm.

Again, I have no need for one.

When I was a kid we didn't own a key to our front door until I went into the Army. We never took the keys out of our car's ignition until I must have been somewhere around 14. My dad left the keys in his pickup truck on the job until he died in 1968. Other workmen on the job needed to get in and out meaning vehicles in the way needed to be moved. Most guys or all that I encountered, left their keys in the ingnition so someone needing to get in there could just drive your vehicle out of the way and you wouldn't have to drop what you were doing to move your vehicle out of the way.
Today? I lock up everything. I don't leave anything in sight when I leave my car. I place everything in the trunk before I leave for my destination. I wouldn't leave an empty sack in sight 'cause someone might break my window just to find out if anything valuable was in my sack.

Texas homeowner shoots, kills 3 men and injures 2 during home invasion

A Texas homeowner in east Houston shot and killed three home invaders wearing ski masks.

Three men were killed and two others were injured after dozens of shots were fired by a homeowner in Texas during a home invasion early Sunday, officials said.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. in east Houston after five men wearing ski masks broke into the home,
    police told KPRC.

The male resident inside then grabbed his weapon and opened fire at the men.

Houston Police said the homeowner appeared to have been defending himself.

"The homeowner appears to have defended himself," Houston Police Department homicide detective Travis Miller told KTRK-TV.

A shootout then took place between the groups, according to police.

"We have multiple, multiple shell casings from several different types of guns," Miller said.

The suspects forced themselves into the home, triggering a shootout, police told local media

A neighbor told KTRK he heard the shots and went outside to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

"I heard around five or six gunshots," he told the television station. "I'm pretty sure there were more before that."

SAN FRANCISCO POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN BRUTAL BEATING OF 88-YEAR-OLD GRANDMOTHER

One of the suspects was found dead in front of the house, while the others fled in an SUV and on foot. Police told KPRC that the SUV crashed into a pole nearby and a second suspect was found dead inside.

A third suspect who was in the SUV fled, collapsed in the street, and later died, KPRC reported.

The fourth and fifth suspects, who were also injured in the shooting, were taken to the hospital. The incident remains under investigation by police, who did not release additional information. The homeowner was not injured.

It's not a sentence though, it's a result or consequence. Don't come in to MY HOME, that I PAY FOR, trying to take things that are MINE or hurt the people I LOVE, or I'll shoot you in the face.

Now the good news for people that think the way you do is that if this happens in Portland, a liberal jury would rule against the home owner if they sued

Now, compare that with Fox News which has zero accolades, ZERO
In fact, Fox News has a bevy of controversies.

Now, which one is light years ahead of the other in credibility?
