    Retard and dotard are actually unrelated words. Retard is from tardus, meaning slow. Dotard is from dote/dotage, plus the suffix ard, same as in drunkard.

    So I don’t think your hypocrisy charge is valid - at least not for this particular reason.

    I didn't think that was it, really. It's that Kim Jong Un used an English word to insult Trump that most of us had never heard before, that was the charm of it. Not that it rhymed with retard. If he'd called Trump a snollygoster it would have been just as good.
