What I like that really checking all the boxes on offense. Scoring at all 3 level and getting to the free throw line. But after he been impressive on the offensive end.

Wait, they got sent to different teams?

We really need our own franchise.

He'll always look really good against G-League competition because his first step is just barely quick enough to get somewhat past his defender. He can also use his strength more to his advantage when driving the paint, and his low-angled shots are easier to get off against less athletic bigs. At least this is what I've seen.

Against NBA talent, he's going to have to adapt.

Some guys just know how to get to their spots without relying on athleticism. Everything I’ve seen from Trent suggests he’s one of them. Lillard commented on Trents ability to get to those spots. For example, the play at 20 seconds in the video. That’s a vet move. Growing up in an nba environment most likely helped and got him prepared for the league. He’s already got an NBA body and he just turned 20. He’s going to be a problem (physically) in a couple years as he naturally gets even stronger. The real question with him will be his shot, and how consistent he is with it.

The most impressive thing about Simons play is that he transformed at halftime into Simmons.

I think both of them are shooting the ball really well. There the teams leading scorer when they play. They are the best players on the court when there out there on the court. Baldwin score a lot points down there too but he didn't shoot as well as these rookies though. But they got 1 or 2 games left down there so we will see if they continue.

I agree, he can get to his spots and I think he has a decent shot, in my mind he has better form than AnSim, his release is quick but looks a bit awkward to me.

I really like Simons release. It is a little low but people said that about Dame too. But regardless Trent can flat out shoot. He proved that in college, summer league, and the G-league. By next year my guess is he and Simons will replace Curry (who will get a nice raise) and Nik in the rotation. Not saying they will be better than Seth or Nik by next year, just that they will move up the depth chart for salary cap purposes unless they are included in a trade.

Agreed about Simons release. Don't think Seth is in line for a big raise, AT ALL. There will be a zillion FAs (literally half the league). Teams won't prioritize tiny players who aren't PGs, even ones who lead the league in 3FG%. This doesn't mean he's not valuable, just that he'll be a secondary or even tertiary FA. My early guess is that we re-sign Seth, and dump Nik. OTOH, we have 3 guards in waiting if we let Seth go.

Or, if we trade CJ, we will also have three guards waiting. And I consider Curry to be just as good an all-around player as CJ.

You may be right. How much will we have to use with the mid level exception? Is Jake a restricted FA?

Jake is restricted yes, assuming we give him the qualifying offer of around $1.9 million.

Great thread! I love roster change! Bring back Bob Whitsitt!

I have cast my lot with Simons since I watched Summer League. This guy will be a very good NBA starter. He does it all. Where can I buy stock in him?
