You said all that matters to you is "playoff numbers" and Aminu's are clearly better.

I think Mirotic is more of the Pelicans playoff performer than those Bulls years. I dont think Chief can shoot you back into a game like Mirotic can either. I get the love for Chief from some fans but I don’t see him as a starter on a second round playoff team.

Trying to find a different angle now lol. I thought all that mattered was playoff numbers:dunno:

When Mirotic shoots just as well (or poorly) s Chief but then provides no defense, fans would complain. Fans underrate Chief big time.

Most people on here always give Chief a pass Id day. Not a different angle, I just know what I saw in the pdx and gs series last year from Mirotic and it was impressive. I honestly never saw any of his Bulls playoff games(I doubt anyone on this board did) but I’d say team fit and situation has a lot to do with a players success. So when comparing a players whole career sometimes that can be tricky, I know currently Mirotic is shooting a higher FG and 3p% this season than Chief(granted he has played 19 less games but taking about 3.5 more 3s per) and I also know I would rather him be taking those passes from Dame for open 3s. Ideally Chief would still be in the picture coming off the bench(for the rest of this season)

Also, i don’t look at every post or differing of opinion as a time where I have to prove I’m right by “changing the angle” :)Everyone can sit here and regurgitate every stat in the history of the NBA but that doesn’t prove or make fact what a certain player will do in a new situation with different teammates. But like 99% of every post on this board that’s just my opinion.

They may shot similar percentages for the season but you have to guard Mirotic. No team guards Aminu.

I dunno. Can we trust him to show up for 30 mpg every night in the playoffs?

To expand on this, the majority of Aminus shots from outside come with the closest defender at least 4 feet away.

When they are 4-6 feet away, Aminu shoots 35%. By comparison, when Mirotic is left that open (which obviously isn’t as often) he shoots 40%.

Won’t even get into how much more of a dynamic scorer Mirotic is.

But why are we even debating the two? Are we trading one for the other?

Thanks...I knew someone would find that information. And because teams wouldn't leave Mirotic open, guess what other players get better looks?

All things considered, Mirotic is the perfect compliment offensively. He must be accounted for, which is a game changer to begin with, and he can score on multiple levels. It’d be a big time add, even if it’s just a rental (personally I think he would stay)

Exactly. Comparing the two is dumb - one commands attention, the other is freely given open shots.

Honest answer? If the choices are Aminu open/Dame double covered, or both against single coverage - I'll take the latter.

This idea was posted on a Pelicans blog. Sorry if someone else already posted it.

Nice way to avoid answering the question. Care to try again.

Is being freely open a bad thing?

Mirotic and Solomon for a late 1st, Turner and Meyers? LOL if that was an option then it would take literally less than one second for me to accept it as a Blazer GM. I hope the Pelican's Brass are smoking whatever that writer is.

Agreed. However, the whole "Holiday and Turner are best buds" angle is one I'd forgotten about. If a Davis trade means Holiday is their centerpiece, and they think bringing Turner in would be valuable...exploit that for all it's worth. Who knows, maybe a Turner/Holiday backcourt is exactly what the Pellie's need.

not a popular point of view but I think we are really overvaluing Mirotic......
