You didn't just imply that a dumpster fire of a franchise not making the Playoffs for over a decade equates to making the Playoffs not being that big or a deal, did you? Right now in the East, there are two teams who will make the Playoffs at less than a .500 record. Making the Playoffs in the NBA is like getting a Bowl Game in college football.

Interesting. Good find. I don't think he would have signed it anyway at either cost, but odds are much less he does at the real cost.

Ahhh, I had no idea about that rule. Seems like a misstep by the players union in the last CBA.

Thank you for correcting me twice about the CBA in the same week. I rescind my CBA Expert status (temporarily).

NYK Gets: George Hill, Future MIL 2nd, Future POR 2nd
MIL Gets: Al-Farouq Aminu, Maurice Harkless, Elfrid Payton
NOP Gets: C.J. McCollum, Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, Thon Maker, 2019, 2021, & 2023 POR 1sts
POR Gets: Anthony Davis, Wesley Matthews, Solomon Hill
    --------------
    NYK Sends: Wesley Matthews
NYK Receives: George Hill, Future MIL 2nd
    - Instead of simply buying out Matthews, New York gets Hill's expiring contract ($1M guaranteed next year) and buy's him out, receiving two future 2nds for it.

MIL Sends: George Hill, Thon Maker, Future 2nd
MIL Gets: Al-Farouq Aminu, Maurice Harkless, Elfrid Payton
    - Swaps Hill for an equal PG in Payton, and uses the money saved to swap Maker and a Future 2nd for Aminu and Harkless. They could use another PF and Aminu and Harkless both fit their switchable defensive scheme (along with Giannis, Middleton, and Snell)

NOP Sends: Anthony Davis, Solomon Hill, Elfrid Payton
NOP Gets: C.J. McCollum, Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, Thon Maker, Three Future POR 1sts
    - New Orleans gets a star in C.J. who could finally become a number 1 option and is a great fit next to Holiday (if they keep him). They also get good futuristic assets in Collins, Simons, Maker, and picks. Maker and Collins could be a very interesting, high potential front court going forward (along with Okafor who's played great). Very solid package for AD. They also shed Hill's terrible contract in the process.

POR Sends: C.J. McCollum, Maurice Harkless, Al-Farouq Aminu, Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, Three Future 1sts
POR Gets: Anthony Davis, Wesley Matthews, Solomon Hill
    - Portland lands Anthony Davis and keeps Nurkic. They also get a familiar SG replacement for C.J. in Wesley Matthews who's still a good 3-and-D player and is a good fit in that lineup. They have to take on Hill's contract, but it expires in 2020 along with ET and Meyers. If AD leaves in 2020, Portland would have an enormous amount of cap space to try to surround two stars they'll still have in Dame and Nurkic. Portland should look for a 9th man to their rotation below through the buy-out market. Preferably a hybrid-forward.

    PORTLAND 8-MAN ROTATION:
    Lillard (36) / Curry (12)
    Matthews (30) / Curry (18)
    Layman (18) / Turner (30)
    Davis (36) / Layman (12)
    Nurkic (30) / Leonard (18)

    MINUTES:
    Lillard & Davis - 36min
Nurkic, Layman, Matthews, Curry, & Turner - 30min
    Leonard - 18min

Oddly enough I think New Orleans is the only team that would possibly accept that deal, ha ha.

New York is trying to save every penny next year. Adding $1 million to their guaranteed number is most likely a no go even for a 2nd rounder.

Milwaukee doesn't want to take on guaranteed money for next year that isn't a long term center replacement. They might lose Brook Lopez so adding two wings instead of a backup plan for him leaving is probably a no for them. Plus they have to re-sign Middleton, Brogdon, and possibly Bledsoe if he opts out. They don't want other salaries like Harkless messing with that.

Portland giving up CJ, Collins, Simons, and 3 1sts plus having to take on Solomon Hill is a little too crazy compared to what other stars have been traded for lately.

Dallas created a $12.9 million trade exception today. Perfect for Meyers Leonard! They need a center.

You could probably work something out with Harkless going to New Orleans instead of Milwaukee who sends Mirotic to Utah (who wants a stretch 4) with Favors going back to Milwaukee. Solves the Milwaukee problem.

With New York, they could probably swap Hill to a team that needs a PG for an expiring with no future money guaranteed. Could attach one of the future 2nds if needed and theyd still gain.

Maybe Dallas is interested in Trent due to he playing on there G-LEAGUE. Plus he the best player on that team. Don't be surprised Dallas try to trade for him.

Any trade? I'd say 70/30 for. A good trade....haven't heard anything substantial yet. Neil plays it tight to the vest unless he wants to purposely leak something. 'Aggressive' for Gasol....whatever.

Turner, Harkless, Leonard (TPE), and Trent for Harrison Barnes? Ha ha ha, we'd save like $16 million and open up 3 roster spots for buyout guys.

You ever hear anything about how other GM's feel about NO, or if he's hard/easy to work with?

K, time to pick ur trade target. I’m gonna guess it’s no one we have heard connected to pdx.

My pick: Otto Porter(somehow and I don’t believe their owner)

List yours, if you nail it I’ll buy your beers the next time I see you.

Assuming we actually make a trade? Taurean Prince.

My realistic target would be Mirotic. Obviously.

Random name that I think fits NO is TJ Warren young wing kind of in a bad situation. Im not saying I want to go after him.
