See that's my point. Most people who are saying "WORST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!" were rooting for the Rams or at the very least didn't want the Patriots to win. I'll take a low scoring tie game in the 4th over a blowout every time.

The Broncos getting owned by Seattle is still my all time favorite SB. Just an ultimate ass kicking. Like the Raiders put on the Redskins in the first SB I ever saw as a kid. Actually the Raiders defense kind did to the Skins what NE did to the Rams, yesterday.
The Redskins set a record for overall offense that year and the Oakland defense of Howie Long, Reggie Kinlaw and Ted Kendricks just ground them into dirt. Those old Raider teams were so awesome.

Yeah I was rooting against the Patriots rather than for the Rams. It was boring regardless. I would rather have had a high scoring game where both teams were getting down the field getting touchdowns, one after the next. Watching defense and no offense is boring.

The only touchdown the Rams had in Atlanta...

Guarantee you none of us Blazer fans would be mad if they won a game 7 in the finals 50-48...

I agree with Bones. I'll take a close snoozer over a blowout. Though the best SB ever was Seattle anally raping Denver in front of millions of people (I might be slightly bias).

This was probably the one call I saw that drew criticism. It could have gone either way. Three plays later, the Pats punted. It was irrelevant.

I'm with you, though. It is a (somewhat) dangerous hit. Not surprised it was called. I can't imagine calling that the most "ridiculous call" in a football game, let alone the Super Bowl.

You were watching a different game than ,I as he did not lead with his helmet and targeting wasn't called. They called it roughing a defenseless player. As soon as he caught the ball and turn around he was bear hugged tacked which is the way we were taught to tackle in HS head up and wrap.

Go back and watch it again, especially from the angle from the opposite side of the live action. The first contact is the Rams player's helmet hitting the Patriots player's helmet. That is a penalty now in the NFL and has been called that way the entire year.

Watched about 5 actual minutes of the game (not clock minutes). No regrets since I can see the ads elsewhere.

That's actually kind of funny. That's as close as he can get to say, "Hello. I'm Steve Kerr and you're not!"

i do see where the helmets met but when the p[layer turn around quickly after the catch the tackler had little recourse because he was right there it wasn't like he targeted him or launch at him or crack back.
I suppose I can see where a ref had to weeny out make a questionable call.
I played hs in the 60's and that would have been a light tackle and technically correct head up, wrap and drive.
And soccer moms are afraid of their kids playing these day's.

That's just how the game is now. It's okay to argue the rule or hate that player's safety is ruining the game but it was called correctly.

Even when they don't get touched, there can still be a penalty. I.e....phantom roughing the passer call against the Chiefs.
